"hyuckie, baby. wake up."

"markie?"

"good morning."

after the events of yesterday, Mark's mom came to pick the two boys from school. that night something grew between them, something more powerful then the friendship they had already. they fell asleep in each other's arms, just them staring at each other all through the night.

the two of them opened their eyes and stared at each other for a bit. eyes locked on each other while haechan felt his heart race. he felt like where he was there was his home, being here with mark as the light from the curtains seeped through illuminating their faces.

"can we skip today? I wanna stay here forever."

"but I just took a week off."

"but you're so comfy."

haechan began to snuggle closer into marks chest, feelings his head rest on top of his.

"maybe we can just go to school late today."

mark snuggled into haechan, feeling his soft hair brush against his chin. closing both their eyes slowly, they fell back asleep

"I missed this."

"I know right, laying here under the cherry blossom tree"

Just like they used too. Now it was just the two of them, sitting here, laying in the grass having each other. the whole world had fallen away. mark grabbed donghyuck's hand and held it tightly. he rubbed circles on the outside of hyuck's palm and looked him in the eyes.

"I'm sorry."

"why are you sorry! I'm the reason you lost your old life."

"maybe I needed to loose my old life."

"what do you mean?"

"I was getting into trouble every night, I was failing school. I wasn't happy."

"I'm sorry."

"Now why are you apologising?"

"I feel bad."

"awh hyuckie, dont feel bad. you helped me."

the two of the stood up and waited under the tree for a bit. as petals fell around the two of them they got closer and closer. feeling something build up inside him Donghyuck felt himself leaning forward more.

were kissing under the cherry tree behind the school

the two of them seemed to be invested in it, seeing as mark leaned in even closer, pulling donghyucks waist into his arms, and Donghyuck wrapped his arms around the back of marks neck.

it was definitely a beautiful moment, one that the two boys could never forget.

their first kiss, together.

but something about this scared Donghyuck

this gave him the urge to run away.

"Mark I'm s-sorry I think I n-need to go."

donghyuck shouted between sobs, running off into the distance, probably to go hide somewhere.

"hyuckie! Please don't go! come back!"

"I- I'm sorry!"

Donghyuck ran into the distance, faster than mark could catch up too.

mark was going to find him.

"jisung, I- have you-"

"Woah, Mark slow down. breath. what were you going to say?"

"I was going to ask you if you've seen Donghyuck."

"Oh you didn't hear? I thought you'd be the first one to see it?"

"See what!"

"He passed out in the main hallway. he's been taken to the nurses office but he hasn't woken up yet."

"what? why didn't you call me!"

"I thought you knew sorry-"

"I don't have time for apologies I have to go find him."

mark ran as fast as he could to the nurses office and found himself burst threw the door.

"Minhyung, it's good to see you again. Looking for Donghyuck I assume?"
"Yeah."

"He's In the 3rd room."

"Thanks."

Mark walked into the room and watched as Donghyuck laid there on the bed breathing steadily. he grabbed his hand and started holding it like he did before under the tree. he looked over at his face, watching the gorgeous features shimmer in the quaint light peeping through the windows. he truly was a beautiful human being, just took mark this long to notice.

"W-what happened?"

"you passed out in the main hall."

"oh- I'm sorry."

"so, hyuck."

"yes mark?"

"about what happened earlier."

"the kiss, right."

"yeah."

"well I just wanted to say-"

"Listen, before you say everything telling me that you still want to be friends but you just don't feel this way or that you think I'm weird or that you'll never want to be friends with me  again just because I'm a gross human being who's in love with a b-"

mark's lips then cut donghyuck short, leaving him breathless as Mark pulled away.

"don't worry, I like you too."

"you- like me?"

"is that not what I just said."

"I can't believe you- of all people- like me."

Donghyuck now sat up in his bed, his checks flushed completely red. he fiddled with mark's fingers against his and looked down at them.

"you're so cute, how did I never notice this before."

"maybe you just haven't been looking in the right places."
