Here I am in Austin Texas. I'm here for some stupid Tournament. If it were up to me I would be somewhere else. I would be out there hoping that my mate would find me or I would find him. Not trying to win me one. Not that I know anything about mates. But looking at my parents I want what they have with my mate.
Natural, unselfish Love. Not emotions that I would need to compete for. Like in this tournament. Every girl would want to win the heart of the alpha king's son. And what I have heard of him so far I can see why. They say he's like a Greek God. Built to lead, a true Alpha. But that's just hearsay. Because since the girls have been arriving one by one, no one has yet to see him. I was beginning to get bored out of my mind so I went to the stables. I love horses and it was honestly the first thing to get my attention when I got here. It's been a week and all the girls can talk about is him.
" I hear that the Alpha King's son will be making an appearance today. "
I heard some girl squeal. I roll my eyes at how stupid she sounded.
After passing them I kept on the path to the stables, loving the fresh air. The doors to the stable were open so I walked in a brown and white horse was the first to catch my eye.
" Hey there. "
I say smiling instantly going towards the horse.
" What's your name buddy? "
I said smiling as I stroked his mane.
" His name is Russell. "
A male voice says making me to almost jump out of my skin.
" Who are you? "
I say, turning to look in the direction the voice came from.
" Kaden Kingsley. "
Came the same voice as he stepped into the light.
" You're him..."
I say trailing off. As my eyes took him in. He did look as they said he did but what stood out to me the most about him is his scent. He smelled amazing.
He smells like Sandalwood and vanilla." Him who? "
He says breaking my train of thought. Clearing my throat, I answered
" The Alpha King's son. "
I said looking at him directly. He was easy on the eyes so it wasn't hard to keep eye contact with him. He smiles and steps closer.
" I am and you are ?"
He asked casually.
" Lana. "
I returned not breaking eye contact. He smiles and before saying
" I gave you two names and you gave me only one. "
With what he says I shrugged my shoulders. He smirks a little before he looks over at Russell. He looks at the horse so lovingly that for a slight second I felt a little jealous. But I quickly got over it when he came to stand next to me.
" Are you one of the contestants? "
He asked breaking the silence. I wanted to say yes that I am but I knew the truth. I didn't come here because I wanted to. No this all on my parents. They wanted me to find a mate in the most challenging way possible.
" Well, are you? "
He asked again when I didn't answer. I quickly thought of what to say so I said the first thing that came to mind.
" Yes and No. "
Was my reply at least it was truthful and in no way a lie.
" What kind of answer is that? "
He says laughing with no humour. I rolled my eyes at him and said
" It's a truthful one. "
He studied my face for a little while before he nods.

After my little visit to the stables, Kaden walked me back to the Mansion. All eyes were on him and me. Most of the stares I got were more likely to be death glares. I wasn't even trying anything funny on the Alpha King's Son and already I had haters.
Great.
Kaden and I said our goodnight to each other, Only for us to meet again
that same evening, because dinner was being held were all contestants will be present and so will Kaden and I can't say that I'm excited to attend this dinner. Upon our arrival, our names will be announced and I'm not sure I wanted him to know who's the daughter I am just yet. Seeing that my parents are the first none werewolf to werewolf mates in history. My mother is human, while my dad is an Alpha. After heading back to my room I took my time to shower and then put on one of the dresses my mother hand-picked for me. I placed my hair in a high bun and then used little to no foundation on my face before I applied a little lip gloss.
" Perfect. "
I say looking at my reflection in the mirror.
I finished the look by wearing my flats knowing that my heels would be killing me if I wore the shoes my mother choose. Taking one last look at myself I made my way down to the dinner table where everyone was seated but me.
"Lana Harrison of Silver Crescent Pack "
I say quickly to the announcer, as he made the announcement of my arrival I took the time to rearrange my nerves. I walk inside and I quickly apologised for being late. I was the lead to sit in the only seat available. The one right next to Kaden. I smile and sit down not wanting to be rude to the Alpha King and his Luna.
" Good evening your Highnesses."
They both returned my greeting and then looked around the table. Luna then stood and address us.
" Good evening Ladies and gentlemen, as we know all the ladies present here tonight has come here for a chance to become my son's s chosen mate and Luna. And so far only one of you were able to grasp his attention. Ms Harrison, please stand. "
As she called my name I stood up. Every girl in the room and also the servants all looked at me. Once I was standing she spoke again.
" You managed to charm my son's favourite horse and by doing so you have earned accommodation in a royal suit next to Kaden's chambers."
I was a bit in shock when she said it. I quickly said
" Thank you, Luna ."
And then I sat down. All eyes were still on me, so the rest of Dinner was uncomfortable.
