I tuck my unruly hair behind my eyes as I raise myself upon my elbows. The movement causes him to shift in his sleep, and he turns his whole body to the side facing me and I wonder to myself if I will ever see something this beautiful again.

He is peacefully resting, his head on the pearl white pillow his face twisted rather downwards so his parted lips almost are kissing the sheets. His eyebrows are bushy-looking and towards the center of his face, the hairs stand vertically, so satisfyingly clean that I want to touch. His ocean blue eyes are hidden away behind his eyelids with eyelashes which flutter now and then and I wonder if he dreams of me or someone else. He is so deep in his sleep that there are no lines in his face except for two on each side of his mouth where his dimples reside.

Strands of his brown hair lunge over his face almost reaching his eyes. It moves so deliciously with every calm breath that I am reaching out and touching before I realize it. When he doesn't shift it makes me foolishly brave and my fingers dip through his curtain of hair to collide with his forehead and his skin is soft, so soft. Something makes me trail the tip of my fingers down the side of his face, reaching the outer edge of his one brow, drawing a line to the top of his cheekbone and dragging towards the edge of his mouth. He draws in a deep breath, disturbing the previous rhythm and as his lips part a little further, I take my chance and close my own lips on top of his. There is no reaction and I linger a little until I pull back and the first thing I see when I re-open my eyes is his ocean.
