When we came back with the rental, I was expecting to come back to a pile of rubble and debris that was once my house. But the house was in tact. I breathed out a sigh of relief as the car came to a stop. I put it in park and got out.

"Just because the outside looks fine, doesn't mean the inside hasn't been thoroughly destroyed," I said in sudden realization.

"Might wanna check," Tony replied, gesturing to the house.

Frantically, I ran up to the door. It was like time slowed down as the front door opened with a creak. The foyer looked fine. But that wasn't the only room in the house.

I rushed into the living room to find it - in tact. Like I left it. Everyone was sitting around, either silently looking angry or worried, or just straight up napping.

"Which one of you wouldn't mind driving a large van for a good hour or so?" I asked around.

"I am not sure what that is, but I accept your challenge," Thor stood from the floor, where he was napping.

"Uhhh," I nervously began.

"No way Point Break. We need this car back as unharmed as humanly possible," Tony spoke up.

"I can do it," Barton stood up with a look of determination and a hint of anger.

We all packed into the van, getting a head count of everyone as they went in. Clint and I made sure to count six people, not including us. Once everyone was packed in, I went inside to grab a few guns. They were my dad's once upon a time. He used them to hunt deer and rabbits and the occasional birds, if he wanted to eat something different.

I had to hop in, and it seemed like I was stuck next to Reindeer Games. I climbed my way to the back, where he sat. I could hear him huff when I sat down.

"We're ready to go," I told Clint.

"This is nuts," Bruce looked over at Natasha with his eyebrows knitted.

Tony was in the passenger seat, and so he took the opportunity to lean his chair back and rest.

-

After a good few minutes, everyone was pretty much asleep. Except for Clint, Loki, and myself, who were wide awake. Loki seemed to be in deep thought, but he was awake nonetheless. He honestly could've daydreamed through a car crash. He seemed to not budge no matter how many times I called his name.

"Is he okay?" Clint asked while glancing back.

"I don't know," I shrugged.

"Eh, good riddance. Just let him go. He should be lucky we haven't kicked him out of the car yet," He mumbled.

"I wouldn't trust him on his own," I nervously commented.

"Rightfully so," Clint agreed.

I looked over at Loki again. I waved a hand in his face, but had no response. Not even a blink. I snapped my fingers in his face, but still got nothing.

"Weird," I whispered.

I proceeded to poke his arm, but my finger touched his shoulder and I could feel my soul slip. My physical body didn't budge, but I could feel my insides shift. The world around me shifted, and I was suddenly in Asgard. My legs felt like jelly, and I had a cold sweat drip down my neck. My mind felt like it had been scrambled, broken up and reassembled. I fell to my knees, fighting the urge to vomit. The dizziness was fighting back.

The room was large, and seemed to be dipped in pure gold. There was a throne on the far side of the room, with a red carpet that stretched from the main doors to the throne. I could see a figure behind the throne, but it was hard to see.

I assumed it was Loki, and I opened my mouth to speak.

"Just what do you think you're doing?" I heard his calm voice echo around me.

"You didn't respond to anything I did, so I poked you, and-" I was hushed by his cold finger on my lips. He had somehow ended up behind me. He walked in front of me, and he held out a hand for me. I took it and stood up, but my legs still hadn't gotten adjusted yet. They bucked, and Loki grabbed me and helped me balance myself.

Once I was able to stand on my own, I looked around the room again. It's Asgard. It's real. How did this happen? Was I high? Was I in a coma? Was I dreaming? This whole day had to be fake.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" he asked, pulling me from the thoughts swirling my head. I quietly nodded in reply. He waltzed his way up the stairs and to the throne. He sat down in the throne with a knowing smirk.

"Bask in this sight and get used to it. This is how it should be. This is how it'll be one day," he let out a chuckle. I didn't know how to reply. I had seen the movies and I heard his whole speech, so I decided to feed his ego.

"There's no doubt in my mind," I replied, receiving a questioning glance in reply.

"Is that so?" he leaned forward, very interested.

It's not that I lied to him. I did think he'd end up on the throne. Whether or not it happened legitimately, that's where I diverged from his fantasy.

"How will I attain the throne?" he asked.

"Since it hasn't happened yet, I haven't seen any movie where you've gotten the throne. But I do think you'll be sitting on it one day. Whether or not you'll get it legitimately is beyond me," I explained. He found something I said amusing, and he chuckled.

"A clever girl. I like you," he hissed, still sounding thoroughly amused.

He stood up and walked back over to me. He stared into my eyes, as if trying to read my mind. His eyes felt like they were piercing through my soul.

"Time to go," he whispered. He shoved me, and I seemed to fall in slow motion. My mind and body seemed to delegate, and my environment shifted to black.

I woke up, startled by what just happened. I seemed to be back in the van. A bead of sweat made its way down my back.

"You okay?" Clint looked back in the rearview mirror.

"Yeah, just a dream," I mumbled, not willing to tell him what just happened.

My mind was exhausted and my body felt heavy. I sighed and began to lay down on the seat, keeping my distance from Loki.

"I'm going to take a nap. Do you have everything situated?" I asked Clint.

"Yeah. The GPS should be enough. Just go ahead and sleep," he replied. I gave him a thumbs up before laying my head down.
