CLAUDIA MARIE ALONSO
As expected, I came a little bit early for the first day. The dorm I live in is just within the campus. I got up early and prepared for school. But when I came here, I found out I was the earliest in class. I was recruited as an official member of the school's Karate team.
I hesitated the offer at first. I didn't want to leave my former school. I didn't want to leave my friends and... my ex-boyfriend, Gerald. I broke up with him two days before I left our place, saying I didn't want a long distance relationship. Hello? Who wants LDR?! That's a pain in the ass.
My mom said it was an opportunity. I could use my Karatedo skill to help her save a few pennies. I really wanted to stay and graduate there at my former school, but mom kept on insisting I should take the chance. After all, it's a really prestigious school.
Aside from that, I wanted a break for myself. I wanted to try living by myself. I wanted to do things without my grandparents' help. Yeah, I mentioned my mom a few moments ago. She gives me all the money and affection I need but it's not enough. I find more love when I'm with my grandparents. They understand me more than my parents who drifted away from each other five years ago. The annullment process is still on-going. And I pray that it will be finished by December as promised by my mom. I never wanted them to separate. I never ever wanted to be called "the girl who came from a broken family". It just so happened that both of them were becoming so irritable. After that came Dad's cheating issues. For revenge, my mom also hooked up with her high school crush. Ugh.
I wait a little longer until someone came. A girl with a pixie cut. I squint my eyes. Is she even a girl? With that female uniform on, she's obviously a girl. But then I realized that she had eyeliner on her eyes.
"Good Morning. New student?", she said as she picked a seat on the third row.
I nodded my head. "Yeah. Scholar. I'm a Karatedo player."
"Ooh. Recruited? Welcome!", she said as she extended her hand for me to shake.
I was about to shake her hand when she took it back and said, "Don't worry. Okay? I'm a bisexual and I'm proud of it. And I have distinctions. For me, you are a friend."
It's good that she's clearing everything up. I shook her hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Claudia Marie Alonso."
"Amber Cruz.", she brofisted me. I chuckled.
One by one, students came flocking to the classroom as Amber and I chatted about random stuff (like how long I've been here, where I'm staying, my views on school and first day blues, gossips on students). Suddenly, a familiar figure entered the classroom. Kareena Salvador.... my childhood friend. She is the daughter of the school's chairman. Her father and my father are good friends. It was my dad who told her dad that I am good at sports, particularly Karate. She didn't change. She's still the bubbly, friendly and stunning Kareena I know.
She was with someone whose height is almost the same as hers. She's got rosy cheeks and brown hair. Judging from her milky white skin, this girl must be as rich as Kareena. They were both approaching Amber and I.
"CLAUDIA!", Kareena wrapped her arms around me. She was about to crush my bones with the hug. I let go of her and smiled.
"It's good to see you again.", I said.
"You haven't changed at all. You're still pretty!", she complimented me.
"And you're still the tall, noisy, beautiful friend I have.", I responded. We laughed.
"By the way, this is Anikka Razon.", she introduced her friend to me.
"Hey.", she smiled at me.
