Oh, sit back, you silent hoper
Your time has not yet come
Keep your tongue inside your head where it belongs.
Life is long, and life is dismal
If you really want it to be:
Why waste it all away, sitting, hoping for reprieve?
When it's time, don't fear; you'll make it,
Just don't wish it all away
Standing there, soapbox and pulpit
Never shutting up
And staying still
And living just this once, for todayOh, silent hoper, you write this
With your tongue pressed to your teeth
Even in your own self-scolding, you could never cede defeat
Sit back, relax, have a drink of something
Your time will, one day, come
For now, deep breaths― take your time
Life is long, and life is curious
And why are you so upset?
Sit back, you silent hoper
It's not too late just yet.
