I meet Luke and Isabelle under the clock tower in the morning. This month we are starting rotating schedule. I walk into science and my teacher announces that we have a new student in our class. " Her name is Alexis." Ms. Markham says. Alexis walks in the room and I am immediately jealous of her. Especially once I see Dylan staring at her.
(FORGOT TO MENTION, DYLAN AND I ARE FRIENDS AT THIS POINT)
"Dylan the principal has changed Alexis's original schedule so that you have every single class together. The principal also wanted you to show her around the school." My teacher adds. Yippee for me, my crush has a crush on the new girl. "Eeek!" I squeak and instantly cover my mouth. as we walk out of class Dylan hands me a note, it says: Meet me at the basketball courts during lunch. Great, now he is gonna interrogate me!
~Skip to Lunch~
"Is something wrong?" Dylan asks. "No, why would you ask that!" i reply harshly. " I have to go Isabelle and Luke are probably waiting for me." Then Dylan yells," Wait, what's so special about Luke?!" ' I dunno, maybe he's a better friend than you'll ever be, what's so special about Alexis!!!" I counter. " I don't know either, maybe she's CUTER!!!" he shouts.I feel everyones eyes on me waiting for me to do something. I see Michael and Brandon walk towards Dylan but instead of helping me they just stand there and mock me. I don't know what to do, ever since that brat, Alexis, arrived my world has been flipped upside down.
I feel the emotions build up inside me and i take off running. i don't realize how hard i am crying until I reach my safe haven, the library. A few minutes later i see Isabelle and Luke next to me comforting me. then Luke gets up abruptly "Who else was there?" he asks. "Michael and Brandon." Reply lamely. I feel him leave.
That night i toss and turn remembering Dylan's words as they echo in my head.' I don't know either, maybe she's CUTER!' Then I remember something. his face wasn't in a proud grin it was in a sad rememberance that i like him. I told him that I liked him and he just made the heart-break worse by staring at Alexis all googly-eyed.
the next morning I wake up feeling fresh,"Who cares about Dylan," I say" This a day for me." I choose my best bad girl outfit ( I change styles a lot) It's a cammo tank top with a white Mickey Mouse on it and a white noodle strap under that, I also wear my dark jeans and all black converse high tops. When i arrive at school My friends are impressed. Most likely because I was wearing deep red lip-stick and mascara. " Wow, you look gorgeous." said a random guy that I walked past. I didn't care about his compliment though my mind was to bust thinking about the plan that i had just come up with. Lucky for me Luke and Isabelle decided to wear dark rocker edgy-er clothes too.
"Hey look, i have a plan and it involves you being my fake boyfriend." I whisper. " Why?" Luke questions. "Because I need to show Dylan what it feels like to have a broke heart." I explain and he's up for it. When Dylan tried to talk to me I just pretended to laugh at a joke Isabelle or Luke made or just gave Luke a quick peck on he cheek. I could tell Dylan was sorta feeling sad so i stopped. When i opened my locker i found a note. It said: 'I need you to meet me at the lunch tables after school today is it okay if Alexis joins? i write on the note and slip it into his locker, what i wrote said ; not in your dreams lover boy, and if you want to talk to me so badly meet me at the park, ALONE.
