"The sunset is pretty...." I mumbled as I sat beside Konju, watching the sunset from a cliff nearby the treehouse.
"Ah," Konju nodded with a smile, his eyes brightening up as orange and yellow slowly faded away to let blue and black take over.
My eyes watched it too as I mulled over what had happened since I had gotten the Fluctuation Artefact, looking at it while replaying Chaos' last words an hour ago.
It's all in your hands, Aruke. Do you want to continue being a Fate Changer?
"... Hey, Aruke, are you considering giving up your status as a Fate Changer?" Konju suddenly asked me, causing me to blink in shock as I looked at him.
"Why would I?" I asked him.
"Well... Your dad DID get kidnapped cause of the Dark Balancers... And you DO want a normal life, don't you?" He pointed out.
"Hm... True..."
But if I hadn't gotten the Fluctuation Artefact, then I wouldn't have met Konju and accepted myself.... Also, I wouldn't have been able to finally understand friendship and moving on....
This is a tough choice...
I then remembered what Tomako had done to the world just for fun, and I began to worry if I was good enough to be a Fate Changer.
But, after a while, I remembered Chaos' words before.
I won't let others get hurt as long as I can still protect and help them be better. That was what I had been aiming for all this time ...
... Being a Fate Changer isn't all about weaving fate. I suddenly realised. It's also about helping others and making their lives much better, just like a story. From a normal person to an amazing person... That's what I want to do. I want to help others, even if it means that I'm hated. I want to help others be able to smile at the face of danger and fight for what's right.
With that, I made the decision that would change my life forever.
I stood up, knowing that Konju was watching me, and walked over to the edge of the cliff, before taking in a deep breath.
"I WON'T GIVE UP MY STATUS AS A FATE CHANGER!" I shouted to the sky. "I WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP MY PROMISE OF KEEPING THE FLUCTUATION ARTEFACT SAFE AND PROTECTING THE WORLD! SO WHOEVER DARES COME AFTER THIS DIMENSION, GO AHEAD, CAUSE AS LONG AS THERE ARE PROTAGONISTS OUT THERE, GOOD WILL ALWAYS WIN! I WILL GUARANTEE THAT!"
W-Wow... I smiled. I haven't felt this good in so long...
Konju slung a hand over my shoulders, nearly causing me to backflip him before I registered who it was, so my grip loosened, "Nice speech, RukeRuke."
"Ah... Thanks, KonKon," I smiled back before I hugged him, "Thanks for everything."
"No problem," he hugged me back.
I never asked for my destiny, but despite everything... I'm glad that I was given this destiny.
