{Book 1}
》chapter 3《
Winterfell was quite beautiful, and the air was far nicer and lighter than in Kings Landing. It wasn't much though.
When we entered the courtyard I saw the Stark family lined up outside with their people behind them. Eddard Stark stood in the middle with his wife by his side. Their five children resembled true Starks with dark hair except for the oldest girl who had Tully red hair just like her mother.
My sister stepped out of the carriage as King Robert walked over to his old friend.
"You've gotten fat," the King said.
It grew quiet as Eddard looked the king up and down before raising an unimpressed eyebrow. They both laughed and embraced each other.
"Nine years!" Robert exclaimed. "Why haven't I seen you? Where the hell have you been?"
"Guarding the north for you, your grace," Lord Stark answered. "Winterfell is yours."
The king greets Catelyn Stark and the children as my sister walks up to them. Lord Stark kissed her hand.
I stood by Jaime, "Isn't that the Greyjoy boy?" I asked, referring to a boy behind the Starks.
"Yes," he answered. "and the one next to him is Lord Starks bastard."
The one he meant had darker hair than the Greyjoy boy which resembled the ones of a Stark.
"It's hard to imagine that Lord Stark would have a Bastard." I said. "isn't he known to be more loyal than a trained dog?"
"All men have desires that they sometimes can't resist." He said.
I rolled my eyes; I was hoping for a gossipfull conversation but now he was getting all serious, "Thank you for your wisdom, brother,"
Our sister came up to us, "Where is our brother? Find the little beast." Cersei demanded and Jamie walked of to find the short man.
That evening a big feast was held for the King's visit. My sister insisted that I was seated beside her. She didn't want me down by the drunk men, she had explained.
Catelyn, who was seated next to my sister, looked at me. "I heard of the tragedy." She said. "I'm sorry for your loss."
I smiled at her. "Thank you,"
"How far are you?" she asked.
"At least 8 moons, could be more," I answered.
He gasped quietly. "So, it could be any day now?"
"Yes," I answered, "I would be honoured to have a child born in the North,"
"Is it your first time in the North your grace?" Catelyn asked Cersei.
"Yes," she answered, "Lovely country."
Catelyn must have noticed that the Queen wasn't that enthusiastic. "I'm sure it's very grim after Kings Landing. I remember how scared I was when ned brought me up here for the first time."
My sisters smiled politely, and Caitlyn's oldest daughter Sansa came up to the table.
"Hello, little dove," greeted Cersei. "You are a beauty."
Sansa smiled sweetly and my sister asked. "How old are you?"
"Thirteen, your Grace."
"You're tall," Cersei noted. "Still growing?"
"I think so, your Grace."
"Have you bled yet?"
Sansa's smile faded and she looked towards her mother quickly before returning her gaze at Cersei. "No, your Grace,"
Cersei smiled and changed the topic. "Your dress, did you make it?"
Sansa nodded happily.
"Such talent." My sister praised. "You must make something for me."
Sansa skipped away and I excused myself form the ladies. I walked outside for some air.
When I came outside, I leaned on a pillar while catching my breath. Walking around with that rock in my belly was a sport on its own. I didn't stand there for many seconds before I heard footsteps behind me.
Out of the Hall came Sandor Clegane with the usual scowl on his face.
"You just can't stay away from me, huh?" I joked.
"I can't let a pregnant woman wander off on her own."
I laughed. "Well, I'm not wandering off, just getting some air," I said. "How's my dear nephew?"
"Less of a pain now that he's distracted by the Stark girl,"
"Poor girl,"
"Aye,"
I laughed and he let out a short chuckle slip. I suddenly felt a dripping sensation from my lower section. I reached between my legs to check.
The wetness turned cold as soon as the cold northern air riped it's way under my skirt.
The big man next to me noticed my actions. He looked at me as if I've gone mad, with all right. After all it's not every day you see a highborn lady reaching under her own skirt. "What in the seven hells are you doing?"
"I think my baby's coming," I said calmly.
