"LUMI! Get over here" I shout pointing a finger at her. Elliot snaps his head towards my voice and steps back a little, surprised by my sudden shout.
I storm over at her and crouch down "Bad dog Lumi! Bad! You're not supposed to run away from home. You're still young"
She sticks out her tongue and starts wiggling her tail. She still doesn't know what scolding is apparently. I can't stay mad at her forever. She can make you melt with just her eyes.
"This is your dog?" Elliot suddenly asks, putting his hands in his trouser's pockets "Don't scold her so much. Maybe she wanted to get some air or something"
I quickly turn my head towards him, a scowl plastered on my face.
"Yes," I stand up and put my hands on my hips to assert dominance. Or at least I hope so. He's a lot taller than me. "What are you doing here with her. And don't tell me what to do"
"I was walking around and just saw her. She came up to me and I started petting her. I thought she was a stray dog and I wanted to keep her" he nonchalantly says.
I do an exaggerated gasp "Were you planning on stealing her? I never imagined you as a dog stealer. I mean, you are...you but still, shame on you!"
"Well I didn't know she belonged to someone." he looks at me from head to toes. "She doesn't have a collar after all"
"Yeah well I-I-" I stutter. God damn him, why does he have to be right all the time.
"At least we found her, calm down" Edie grabs my shoulders. How dare he think of stealing my precious baby. I pick her up, huff at him and turn around.
"You're welcome?" he says as I'm still in hearing range. I don't want to thank him.
Edie follows me and sends an apologetic smile at him. He just stands there, looking at Lumi."I can't believe you've done this." I scold Lumi as soon as we got home. She just looks at me with the same cute expression as in the park. I take a deep breath and get up. She won't listen to me.
"Want something to eat?" I ask Edie who's sprawled on the living room couch watching some alien documentaries.
"What'cha got?" she turns her head.
"I'll just order pizza" I say, grabbing my phone.
"Okay. I need to put on some weight. I feel too skinny" she says, playing with her nonexistent belly fat.
I roll my eyes and chuckle. She is like a model. They only feed her vegetables at home. Her mom says that I should become a vegan too. But oh well, I like meat.
"So, what are you planning after high school?" I suddenly ask.
"Prolly I'm going to manage one of the hotels or something" she turns to me.
"Yeah you have your future there" I sigh.
"How about you?"
"I honestly have no idea. I don't know what I want. I don't know what I'm good at. The only thing I know is how to whine and sleep. That's it." I've never been good at anything in my life. Everybody around me had some kind of skills or like Edie, their parents owned a business. I don't know what will happen in the future.
"Pizza's here!" I state as the doorbell breaks the atmosphere.
Edie pauses the show. We decided to watch Love at Trance. It's an adorable drama about two gay boys who fall in love. I'm currently obsessed with them.Lumi starts barking right as she hears the doorbell.
"Lumi!" I hiss at her "Be quiet, it's just the pizza delivery man!"
Edie stands up and heads to her to calm her down. She starts to play with her and I turn on my toes to open the door.
Surprise, surprise.
"Elliot?????" This day is filled with surprises.
