"Order 25 is ready!" the chef shouts from behind the counter.
"I'm on it," I say, grabbing the plate.
Working as a waiter isn't that bad. The pay is good and I get a free meal. The bad things are that my legs hurt and sometimes the customers are just too rude. But thank god the rude customers are rare.
I bring the plate to the table and thank them for coming.
"Hey Blair!" George, my coworker, calls me.
"What?" I go to him with an empty plate in my hands.
"That guy over there has been looking at you for quite a while" he nudges his head towards a table.
I whip my head in that direction and see Elliot shooting flames through his eyes. I almost drop the plates but thank god George is here.
He grabs the plates "Are you okay?" he puts a hand on my shoulder.
From the distance, a squeak from a chair is heard and in seconds, Eliot is right in front of me.
"Blair, are you okay?" he asks and grabs George's hand, peeling it off my shoulder while shooting deathly glares towards him.
George looks at him weirdly but backs off.
"What are you doing here?" I ask, blankly staring at him.
"I'm hungry?" he says, raising his shoulders.
I sigh "Okay, you have food at your restaurant, what are you doing here? The food there is almost the same as here"
"I wanted to eat here" he pouts making me melt right there but thankfully I don't break my front. "Plus, I wanted to see you"
"Fine" I huff, ignoring the fact that the washing machine in my stomach is back. I'm at work. I need to act professional.
"Order 10 is up" the chef shouts.
"That's your table, go sit. I'll bring it to you" I say, turning around.
"Okay, but can we talk? I have something to tell you" he says. Something to tell me? What? Why do I want to know?
I sigh "I finish work in half an hour. We can talk then"
"Okay"
I can't believe he convinced me to come to my house to tell me "something important".
As we drive to my house, he lifts his legs on the console of my little baby.
"Hey!" I smack his legs.
"What? What?" he says, retracting his legs back.
"Stop making Gregory dirty" I exclaim.
"Gregory? Is that your car's name?" he chuckles.
"Yes, you have a problem with that? If so, get out"
"No, no. It's just so... you." he grins while staring at me.
"Okaaaaay... If you say so "I chuckle "Now can you stop staring at me, I need to focus on driving"
"Am I distracting you?" he smirks, crossing his arms.
"Well I mean, every human being that stares at me like you are is going to distract me" He really should stop.
"But there is no other human being that stares at you like me, is there?"
I sigh "Unfortunately, no "
His smile reaches his eyes as he shows his pearly whites. I guess he's really happy.I literally have no idea how I feel about Elliot. I hate him but at the same time, I don't. I don't want to be around him, but at the same time I miss him when he's not with me. Why are human emotions so complicated?
"Okay so, what do you want to tell me?" I say, giving him a glass of water and plopping on the couch next to him.
"Imma just get straight to the point. I like you" he says, looking up at me.
He what?
My heart starts beating faster than the speed of light and it's like my hands are waterfalls.
"What?" I ask in disbelief. I must be imagining stuff. There's no way he likes me.
"I said I like you." he smiles.
I start pinching myself to see if I'm dreaming but nope. It hurts. I'm still alive.
"But... why?" I ask.
"Well at the party, at first, I was confused as to why you would hit me. We didn't know each other and you had no reason to hit me so I got mad. But when I found out you were Abby's friend, the anger kinda subdued because I know that I hurt her then. Then, I saw you struggling with the "Ellits" so I wanted to help you. I got them to stop tormenting you by taking a picture with them"
"Ohhhhh, so that's why you had that" I exclaim. It makes sense.
"Yeah. And then, I started to get more curious about you and hid the keys so I can stay with you, followed you to look for Edie's cat, went to your restaurant. When I did that, I realized I like you. You have no idea how jealous is made me when Gorge grabbed your shoulder." he chuckles.
"Hm... I understand" I nod. After telling me all of this I realized that I don't hate him at all. I actually like him too.
"You know what?" I say determined.
"What?" he asks confused.
"At first I really hated you, like from the bottom of my heart and I thought you were the worst human being on this planet."
"Oof, harsh" he chuckles.
"Yeah. I really hated your guts. Anyway, I got to know you better and realized that you're a pretty chill guy. And then...."
"And then? What?" he asked in anticipation.
"I guess I started linking you too"
