{Elizabeth's POV}

[In the local Hospital]

I woke up with no feeling all over my body. That was two hours ago. I can now feel my hands, feet and upper abdomen.

All I could think about all day was Sodapop. The gang. The baby.

"Oh, you're awake!" a small waisted, short, brunette nurse exclaimed walking in. "I'm Susan, your nurse while you are checked into our establishment!"

She laid a cold towel around my head and looked at some papers - or x-rays.

She was studying them for a long time.

"Uh, Susan... How long have i been here exactly?" i asked tiredly.

Susan bend over a table and flipped through a clipboard and circled something with the blue pen she had taken from her gown pocket. "Three days, ma'am."

I grunted and made myself comfortable. "Susan, what is th-"

I didn't get to finish my question before she stuck a thermometre into my mouth.

She chuckled. "Sorry, it's just it says to take your tempature every hour on the hour!" she shyly remarked, pointing to her wristwatch that read 4:01pm. "Seems i'm a bit late, dontcha think?"

As she strutted out of my room to the next, I could hear a gentle knock on the door. I looked over to see Gwen peering in at me.

"Hey Elizabeth. How are ya?" she whispered, stepping in and walking over. She was carrying a small sized white box with a black ribbon around it.

I sighed. "I feel like shit, Gwen." I replied, struggling to keep the thermometre in my mouth.

"You look like shit! Here!" she said pushing the box at me, sitting on the wooden recliner next to my bed.

I studied the box and carefully pulled the ribbon. It fell off and I lifted the lid. I looked inside at what appeared to be a small whistle. I curiously looked at her. "What is this?"

"A rape whistle. Me and Steve pitched in to get one of you!"

I rolled my eyes and looked at the ceiling. Susan scurried in with a clipboard and took my thermometre. She checked it and scribbled something down.

"Well, you certainly don't need anymore fever medication!" and she hurriedly walked out the door.

"When did I get here?" I asked Gwen who was fiddling with her short hair.

She sighed and looked at me. "Soda brought you here. He said he had to get away. I don't know what happened, but he just kinda bolted outta here. He's been missing since Tuesday."

My eyes closed immediatley, trying to think where he had gone off to. My mind was a blur.

"How's the baby?" Gwen asked, concerned.

Susan walked in at that moment and became alert. "What was that?"

I sat up, painfully in this case. "How is my baby? Is it okay?"

Susan bit her lower lip and crossed her arms above her small breasts. Her eye was twitching, as she slowly opened her mouth. "She didn't make it. The fall was too much impact and it crushed her. I'm sorry, Miss. Cole."

At that moment, i could feel my whole world crashing down upon my life. My fiancée had run away for only God knows what reasons, my first child was now what it started out as... Nothing. My best friend had gone bat shit crazy. Great. Just great.

I felt hot tears stream down my face just thinking about this all. I had nothing left in my life. There is only one thing to do...

I have to end it all.
