Nova's POV
"Wow, this is absolutely beautiful" Torvi exclaims as she fixes my veil on my hair, "Look, how long it really is" she says as her eyes glitter
My eyes brighten as I look at myself in the mirror, the dress fits perfectly. The little lace flowers on my dress look as realistic as they can ever seem
"Torvi? Have you seen Amelia?" I ask as I adjust my veil
"Ummm" she says as she picks up the jewellery, "She has gone home for a few weeks or so, she wasn't feeling so well. I went to see her off in Paris with Medusa, afterwards we picked up your dress".
"Oh, poor thing" I say as I fix my corset, I will never wear corset after today.
"Listen, send her this letter" I say as I grab a letter from my table, "She is my best friend and I want her to read it" I say as I look into Torvi eyes and she nods
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
"Come in" I say as Torvi kneels to fix my dress
*Aslaug enters with six maids*
I Bow and she smiles
"So you and Ivar finally reached an agreement about how your wedding should be like?" she says as she sits and look at me, the maids starts hustling and bustling around the room
"Yes, it was a difficult decision to reach upon but we wanted to respect each other's religion and background" I say while wearing my earring, "It is ought to be best of both worlds"
"Intriguing" Aslaug smirks, "Of how my son only listens to you and no one else"
"Oh no, he worships you" I look at Aslaug
"He did but now you" Aslaug points towards me, "have tamed his body and soul"
I hesitate as I don't know what to say, it feels as if Ivar's affection towards me is making her uncomfortable?
"I am not uncomfortable" she says and I nearly jump
"How?? Did you read my thoughts?" I say as I keep my hand on my chest
"Oh dear, I am a volva. Anyways, I have a gift for you" She says as she stands up
She claps her hands and three maids bring a humongous trays covered with white cloth
"Go ahead, take a look" Aslaug smiles
I hesitate but I put my hand out to remove the cloth from the trays, hoping that it would be something to eat, preferably sweet.
I remove it and there is a metal pieces and various metal pieces, I cannot decipher as to what it really is.
"It's an armour" Aslaug says with pride, "My mother was a shield-maiden, now you are going to be the Queen, you might as well get out of your pretty corsets and step into metal armours" she smiles
