DAY 1
*Knock, Knock , Knock*
I knock on the dungeon door as the two viking men who have been given for my protection by Ivar stand by my side uncomfortably.
The door open and my anxieties go haywire, I see my family after months apart
"MOTHER!!" I scream as I hug her, she tears up at the sight of seeing me, "Nova!!" She shrieks while hugging me tightly
Then I spot my two brothers at the corner of my eyes, Eric runs towards me and kisses me on the cheek
"My little hero" I smile and kiss his cheek back
Adrian doesn't move, he doesn't even acknowledge our presence.
The dungeon is dark and in pathetic condition, there are two wooden beds and one toilet by the bedside, my family looks sickly and a part of me will never forgive Ivar for dragging them through this pain.
"Look at you Nova, look how good you look" My mother takes my arm and drags me to the wooden bed as Eric follows me but Adrian sits by the window.
"What is wrong with Adrian? He doesn't seem happy to see me" I say with sadness
"His pride is hurt" My mother says with sadness, "He was a king, now he is a prisoner"
My heart hurts for my brother, seeing him like this makes me want to fight the world for him.
"How are you alive?" My mother smiles and looks into my eyes, "What does that devil worshipper want? Did he touch you?" My mother says while she examines my face and hands
"No, he didn't touch me" I say shyly "But"
"But what?" She is intrigued
"Mother, I need to inform you about something that I know in my heart you won't approve of. But I am doing this for us, for our blood" I say with concern in my face and brace my heart for my mother's wrath
"What is it, tell me?" she says as her face becomes pale
"Ivar, has a proposal which works for all of us. I know you won't oblige to it but hear me out" I say and look at her
She says nothing
I continue, "He has proposed marriage to me, in return for safety for you all" I look at the floor
"THAT PIG!" My mother screams as she stands up in angst
"NOVA! You cannot!" Eric shrieks
"I know, I know what you feel but right now is not a time for feelings. I have to take this decision for you all. You are my family and I will not let anything hurt you" I say as I look to my mother who is standing in shock
"I WON'T LET THAT HUMAN BLOOD DRINKER MARRY YOU" My mother shouts
"Mother please calm down, think about it. You will be free" I say and I stand up to convince her
"What about your freedom? My mother holds my hand and looks directly into my pupil
It is the first time I feel that I never be actually free, A palace without family and a marriage without love. It is time for acceptance.
"I will compromise. I can do this little for my family. I want you to be out of this hellhole" I say meekly
"OVER MY GRAVE YOU WILL MARRY THAT DEVIL" She screams
"Mother! It is not about him. It's about what is best for our family, for YOU, For ERIC and ADRIAN" I say while getting frustrated
"You want us to run away like cowards?" Adrian finally speaks
"What choice do I have or what choice do you have?" I exclaim, "You tell me"
My mother walks towards a small dresser and takes out a small pear shaped green bottle.
"This is the choice" she says as she raises up the bottle to eye my level
I take the bottle and examine it closely, then I take a sniff.
"Is it?...." I say
"Yes, it's Poison" My mother says and tears up, "Drink it and die Nova, just drink it. I would rather let you die than marry that heathen. Death will be sweeter my love" She says as she places her hands on my shoulder
I am shocked that my own mother, no matter the situation would encourage me to kill myself, I cannot make sense of my life right now. I shiver as I hold the bottle. Death seems to be the easiest solution.
"Ah look who it is" I say as I spread my arms, "Future Mother in law! and brother in law! and look another brother in law" I laugh

"You Pig!" Nova's mother looks at me in disgust
"Awww ,What a cute little name you have given me" I scoff, "I will make sure your daughter moans my name in bed"
"YOU VILE HUMAN BEING! NOVA WILL NEVER MARRY YOU" Nova's mother is infuriated
"Shhh.. Calm down mother in law, I don't want you to die here with a heart attack. I want to be the good guy you know? Umm by letting you free and winning over her trust?" I look at Adrian who is fuming
"You Godless creature" Adrian mutters as I leave the room
"You all are not invited to our wedding my from the bottom of my heart I hope, I really do hope that you quit her life soon." I shrug, "And when it comes to you my mother in law, I know Nova will be devastated when she finds out that you have lied about everything. everything" I raise my eyebrow as I look at Nova's mother who looks ghastly
"What do you know?" She mutters without air in her lungs
"I know everything" I smile, "Then don't call me Ivar The God for no reason" I wink at her and she falls to the ground as her sons run to comfort her
I know everything.
