Chapter 8 

Aaron's POV 

"Hey I'm Daniel!" He says with a smile. "And you must be Aaron." 

"Hey, Yeah I'm Aaron." I said with a smile, my mind still stressing about the fact that his hand was around Mia's waist. 

"Mia’s told me a lot about you." he said.

I smiled. 

"Let's go dance." He said to Mia.

"Sure" She replied. 

"Wanna join us, Aaron?" Daniel asked. 

"No it's ok. You guys have fun." I said. 

They went to the center of the hall and started dancing. 

A sudden swish of jealousy flowed through me. 

They were dancing and he twirls her around and she laughs. They seem happy with each other. It really makes it hard to believe they’re not dating. 

After about an hour, the pizza came and it was over in just 10 minutes.

Soon it was 9:50. I got a text from Mia: 

“Hey Aaron, I'm outside we can go home now to watch the movie. 

I'm sitting inside my car. See you xx”

I was ready to leave when the same blonde girl who wanted me to dance with her earlier, came up to me and said flirtatiously "Where are you going? Your girlfriend left so, you can stay here and enjoy with me." 

"I have to go to her house. I promised her. Sorry, maybe next time." I replied with a smile. 

"Whatever." She said while tossing her hair and walked away. 

When I was walking towards Mia's car I noticed someone sitting in the front seat. 

So I went and sat at the back. 

"Hey" I said. 

It was Daniel sitting in the front.

They both said hi and we drove off to Mia's house. 

Mia's POV

"You belong with me, you belong with me. Walking the streets with-" I was singing when Daniel said 

"Oh for god's sake Mia, I don't want to go deaf." 

"Come on Dan, I can sing much better than you."

He raised an eyebrow at me and said "Is that so?" 

"Yup." 

I noticed Aaron looking out of the window feeling a little uncomfortable, I was about to ask him if he was okay when he said "Umm Mia could you drop me to my house? I can't come for the movie cause I need to help my parents pack and I need to pack my clothes too, so I'll be at your house at around 12. Does that sound good?" 

"Sure, that’s cool." I replied. 

I dropped him at his house and Daniel shouted "What the hell did he mean by ‘He’ll be at your house by 12’?” 

Oh crap! 

Out of all the things in the world I forgot to tell Daniel about the trip. 

"I'm so sorry Daniel. I forgot to tell you." I told him everything and he was shocked. 

"Miss Mia Evans, a girl who forgets to tell her best friend the most important things in life." He said as he crossed his arms like a bummed out kid. 

"Sorry." I said sheepishly.

"I'm not allowing that." He said. 

"Not allowing what?" I asked, confused.

"You and him. In your house alone."

"Daniel this wasn't my decision. Our parents want to go for the trip together so they thought it would be better to make us stay together than leaving us alone." I said with a sigh. 

"Mia seriously, I'm not letting you live alone in your house with a guy who has hurt you." he said with a serious voice. 

"That's the point Daniel! We all know that Aaron doesn't like me as anything more than a friend. So he won't do anything. I told you my mom knows about it. Plus it's not like I'm going to make a mistake of falling for him again." I said with a reassuring smile. 

"I'm still against this Mia." He said looking out of the window.

"Daniel, please. You know how long my parents have been wanting to go to California, but they could never go because they couldn't leave me alone here." I said. 

"Why don't you stay with me then?" He asked.

"Because somehow they trust Aaron a lot, they won’t let me stay at your house. They themselves know that both of us won't fall for each other."

After a few minutes of silence Daniel said "Can you drop me off at my house, your parents are home already." He pointed at my parent's car.

"B-But what about the movie?" I asked nervously. 

"Not in the mood." He said and got out of the car and inside his house. 

I'm the most stupidest person on earth. I can't believe I forgot to tell him, he never cancels any movie nights. 

Did Aaron and me living together really affect him so much? Why?

We’re just friends.

I parked my car and went inside. 

"Mia, how come you’re home so early ?" Mom asked as soon as I took off my sandals. 

"I'm tired." I replied with a low voice. 

"How come you both are early? You said you'd be here at about 12." I asked. 

"Oh Mia we called you but you weren't answering your phone. Our flight has been preponed. Instead of our 2pm flight we have a flight at 7AM." Dad said as he carried a pile of clothes in his hand ready to pack them.

I stared at them with wide eyes and exclaimed "What?!" 

"Yes that means we'll be at the airport when you would still be sleeping." My dad said knowing what I was about to ask next. 

"Oh and Mia, Aaron will be here at around 8, he'll drop us at the airport and then come here." Mom said suddenly remembering it. 

"Sure. I'm going to sleep, I'm tired." I said with a yawn. 

I hugged my parents, wished them a happy journey then went to my sister’s room, gave her a small kiss on the cheek and went to my room.

I changed and sat on my bed suddenly not feeling sleepy anymore. 

I decided to call Daniel to see if he was awake.

His phone was busy. 

I wonder who he's talking to. 

I grabbed a book and went to read it near the window.
