Chapter 9

Daniel's POV 

I walked into my house and ran up to my room and sat on the bed. 

I started thinking. 

How can I just let Aaron and Mia live together? I mean c'mon! He's a guy! He can try anything he wants. 

Ok fine. Yes, I admit it. I get over protective of her. But she's my best friend. I have to take care of her. 

When Mia and me got close to each other last year, she told me all about Aaron. How he didn't react after she confessed and even stopped talking to her after. Then she told me how she was happy that she moved here because she wouldn't be able to face him ever again. She even stopped talking to him after that. Now he's here and god knows what he's going to do.

He can even use Mia and. Oh God! I don't even want to think about that. 

I did the next thing that came to my mind.

I went on Facebook and I searched Aaron's name. 

I found his contact information and dialled his number. 

After about 4 rings he picked up. 

"Hello!" He said from the other line.

"Ok listen Aaron! I don't know what you're doing here and I don't know why you're here in the first place. I just know that if you do anything I mean anyrhing to Mia, and I mean anything, when you are staying with her I swear to God that you will really regret the day you were born. I don't want you to hurt Mia like you hurt her before. I don't want you to even get close to Mia ever again. Am I clear?" I shouted through the phone glaring at the window imaging him there right in front of me.

"Hey dude relax! It's not like I'm going to do anything to her. She was my best friend too Daniel, and to me she still is. But she doesn't take me as anything more than an aquaintance." He said with a sigh. 

He continued "I would never hurt her. Plus it's not like she's going to like me again anyway, not after what I did to her."

"Wait, what the hell did you do to her?"

"Umm... Oh, I... Umm, have to go. Sorry! Bye!" Before I had a chance to ask him again he hung up. 

Anger rushed through me and I felt like killing him. What did he do to Mia? 

I dialled Mia's number to ask her. 

After 6 tries I gave up. 

She must have slept already. 

I'll ask him tomorrow myself.

I looked at the sky from my window and whispered to myself "I really hope Mia doesn't fall for him again. I just don't know what I'll do." 

After removing my shirt I bounced on my bed and drifted off to sleep. 

Mia's POV 

As the sunlight reached my eyes from my window I pulled the covers on my head, but before I could even turn to the other side my phone started ringing. 

Instead of answering, I kept it on silent and went back to sleep. I'll return the call later.

I mean who calls this early in the morning? 

After a few minutes I got up. 

Yes, I can't go back to sleep if I've been disturbed.

I glanced at the clock next to my bed and it read 6:21 AM.

That's it? It's just 6 in the morning ? 

Ugh! Now I have to get up.

I went to the washroom and brushed my teeth. 

I looked at myself in the mirror. 

The girl standing there was wearing a pink top and light blue shorts that came a few inches above her knees. 

I was walking down the stairs and I called out "Morning Mom, morning Dad." 

No answer. 

Weird, they should be awake by now.

They must be in their rooms gettin' ready. 

So I went to the kitchen and my eyes were half closed and I was messing with my hair when someone said 

"Morning"

I turned around and saw Aaron on the counter table. 

"Aaron?!" I exclaimed.

"What are you doing here so early ? My parents haven't left yet, it's still 6:30." I said.

And he did what I least expected him to do. 

He laughed. 

Why is he laughing? 

If he keeps laughing his care free laugh again I don't know how I'll be able to keep my feeling under control. 

"What's so funny?" I asked as I folded my arms over my chest. 

"Mia, do you know time it is?" Aaron asked with amusement. 

"Uh, I just told you it's 6:30" I replied.

He chuckled and showed me his watch. 

12:30

"Oh crap! My clock must be broken, and I actually thought I got up early today." I said sheepishly as I ran a hand through my hair. 

"Don't do that." Aaron said suddenly. 

"Don't do what?" I asked, confused by his reaction. 

"Nevermind." He said. 

Before I could protest he continued "Do you want something to eat?" 

"Yes." Stressing on the last syllable. 

He got up and handed me a plate and put 2 waffles on it. 

After that he sat on his chair and continued eating. 

"Hello? Where is the chocolate syrup?" I asked. 

Doesn't he know I don't eat waffles without chocolate syrup. 

Geez. 

"I don't know. I couldn't find it." He said with a shrug. 

I let out a groan and grabbed a chair and took it with me to the cabinet. 

Yeah my mom keeps the syrup right on top of the big cabinet.

I stood up on the chair. 

The syrup bottle was a little far from my reach.

"Hey be careful up there." Aaron said. 

"Yeah yeah." I replied trying to reach the syrup. 

Aaron walked towards me and said "Here, let me get that-" 

Before he had a chance to complete his sentence I grabbed the bottle real fast, making me lose my balance and eventually resulting in me falling, unfortunately, right into Aaron's arms
