Ephesians 5:18 (KJV)
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Ephesians 5:18 (The Message)
Don't drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of him.

When You walk in,
I am as one without words—
Speechless.
Lost and held captive
By the depths in Your eyes.

As I try to navigate through
Searching for words that suit you,
I discover me stumbling upon myself.
So I find me some liquid-Spirit courage:
1 shot becomes 3 and 3 becomes 7 shots.

My tongue loosens,
And words slurr,
Overflowing with adjectives and adverbs.
All taking a turn to describe Your essence.
Still none encapsulates You.

So, I turn to another language
And speak as one under the influence of.
"I love You more than life", I say over and over.
An onlooker thinks me a blubbery mess,
But You view me as the ready writer.

As my drunken self
Stumbles towards You,
You catch me in Your outstretched arms,
Steady me on my feet,
And whisper in my ears, "There is more".

The baptism by the Holy Spirit is a very important aspect in the life of the believer. Ephesians 5:18 is saying we don't need wines or spirit drinks to make us drunk anymore. These drinks can make us misbehave and all because that's what it does when it's excessive. However, we now have the Holy Spirit, we can drink of Him and be drunk in Him. Such that every one of our actions is dictated by the directives of the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of God!

Remember in Acts 2, when the apostles got filled in the upper room, the people who heard them thought they were drunk! Yes, they were— they were drunk in the Holy Spirit!

Getting filled with the Holy Spirit and receiving the ability to pray in other tongues is an awesome daily experience! I just love how God has everything we need prepared for us, if only we will just step into it.
