I took a deep breath before deciding to approach the crying kid. Look, I'm not really the kind of guy who loves comforting crying strangers. It's just that, I bet the kid across my table have been crying even before I got here. And it's getting really annoying.

"Hi, I'm Ronnie." I took a seat on the chair in front of him. He didn't respond.

"Uh... Why are you crying?" I sounded stupid, but it's like, whatever.

"You won't believe me..." he muttered and buried his face to his hands.

"Well, why don't you tell me what it is? I'd listen." I offered a kind smile. He hesitated at first, but he took an exaggerated sigh before looking at me and talked.

"Last week, me and my family moved into a different house. The house is like, 30 percent mirrors. I'm not really a fan of mirrors because everytime I look at my reflection, I would only get disgusted of what I saw. So I avoided the mirrors. But last night..." he stopped and looked at me. Like he was looking for any particular expression on my face except for curiosity.

"Go on." I urged him.

"Right. So last night, my parents are invited to this party in their office. They went to that stupid party and left me alone inside the house. It was late at night and I'm still checking tumblr when I heard noises from the mirror room. That room is located down the basement and it's literally made of mirrors. I heard many voices inside, like many people are talking and laughing. I got scared. At first, I thought about calling 911 because they might be intruders. But I realized that, if they're intruders, what are they doing inside the mirror room? It's not like they would steal the mirrors or something. So I went down the basement and checked it myself. When I entered the basement, I was shocked at what I saw. Inside the mirrors is a small city. The noises came from the people inside the city. All of a sudden, the door shut close and all the lights went out. Even my flashlight magically disappeared from my hands. I started crying and screaming for help. But no one heard me. I passed out and when I woke up, I was inside the city…" he finished and cried even harder. I think the story is pure bullshit, but of course, I won't say it out loud.

"Hey, stop crying. At least you got out of there. Look! You're back. You're safe now." I comforted him. He stopped crying and looked up at me with terrified eyes and said,

"No, I never escaped the city."
