"My mum would surely flip shit if she finds out that I sneaked out just to be with you." Calypso told Leo as the smaller boy pulled her into the farther and more secluded parts of the rural New Jersey.

Calypso and Leo were dating despite their parents' disapproval. They've been together for a few months now and luckily, nobody caught them yet. Everytime they'd decide to rendezvous, they would choose a secret and unwanted place in their town.

Like this abandoned warehouse, for example.

"It's okay. She'd never know. We've been doing this for 6 months now, right? And we've not been caught or even suspected once." Leo reassured her and came into a halt when they saw the infamous abandoned warehouse.

Somebody started the rumor that there are cannibals living in New Jersey and their secret hideout and slaughter house is the said warehouse. Of course, everyone believed that.

Everyone except for Leo.

He's confident that those kind of creatures doesn't exist. Besides, there are no actual evidences about that. How wrong he was.

"Leo... I uh. I'm not sure about this place. Have you heard the rumors?" Calypso asked cautiously and Leo looked at her as if she said something ridiculous.

"Are you kidding me? Rumors are rumors and therefore, not true. Cmon, do you wanna hang out with me or what?" Leo asked, seemingly annoyed by his girlfriend's naivety.

"Okay. Let's go." she finally said, not wanting to annoy him some more.

The more they get closer to the warehouse, the more creeped out Calypso gets. But she shrugged it off because she have to trust her boyfriend. They opened the door of the warehouse with ease and when they went inside, they were met by a thick wave of dust and both started coughing.

"Ew. There are bugs everywhere." Leo complained and Calypso laughed at his panicked face when a bug dropped on his feet.

Leo cleared a small part and sat on the wooden floor, Calypso followed his actions and sat in front of him. Leo let out a sigh and held her hands with a sad expression.

"I snuck into your house last week and overheard your argument with your parents about... you being sent to a boarding school." Calypso was shocked to hear this. She intended to keep that from him because she doesn't want Leo worrying over her.

"It's not yet confirmed but-"

"I don't want you to leave me, okay? We can run away together I have saved up enough money for-" Leo frantically hugged her.

"What? Leo you're insane! I'm not running away with you! We're only 16 and my parents also matter to me!" she pushed him off her and looked at him in disbelief.

This angered Leo and at the same time, hurt him a lot and he hung his head low and let go of her hands.

"How bout me? Don't I matter to you?" he whispered, unable to accept what he just heard.

"I'm sorry. It's not like that but-"

"Well yeah, guess what? That's how I felt like. I fought for you and willing to choose you over my own family but sadly, you won't do that for me. You know what, I'm leaving. I'm so out of this shit and I don't deserve to be treated like a second choice because I gave you everything." Leo spat and got up from his place, Calypso burst into tears and hugged him.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Stay please. Please." she cried desperately, but Leo only shrugged her grip off and started walking away. He stopped dead on his tracks when he heard banging somewhere in the warehouse.

"Leo have you-"

"Yes. Ssssh. Stay here. I'll check it out." he quickly cut her off and disappeared into a basement door.

Calypso waited for him to go back and take her home, but about half an hour later, he's still down the basement.

Curiosity got the best of her so she went to the basement door and went down the basement. It was pretty dark, but there is still visible light. She walled straight through the eerie narrow way, and stopped when she saw two more passages.

It wasn't just a basement. It was wider and there are many more doors and tunnels. She reckoned that she was just going in circles, and was about to go back upstairs and wait for Leo, when she heard scrapings from the door she have just passed by.

Calypso reluctantly opened the door, but her eyes widened in shock at what she saw.

The walls were practically covered in red paint. There are the ones like a hand was dipped in paint and dragged the said hand across the wall. Trembling in fear, she reached over the wall and touched the paint.

It was still wet.

And no, it isn't paint. It is blood.

"H-Help me..." a voice begged weakly, and Calypso immediately identify it as Leo's. It was coming from the door where all the dragged hand marks were directed to and she ran to open it.

She didn't see the signs.

When Leo said he'd check 'them' out.

When Leo immediately knew there is a basement door.

When Leo knew the perfect direction to the warehouse.

When Leo told her she overheard her and her parents talking... because in truth, she doesn't have parents anymore.

But I guess you haven't noticed other things than that.

You didn't notice how Calypso said she sneaked out even though she doesn't have her parents.

You didn't notice how Calypso begged Leo to stay.

You didn't notice how Calypso found the right door to where Leo is.

You didn't notice how Calypso was making sure that Leo doesn't believe on rumors.

When she opened the door, she was pleased to find Leo, her parents, and Leo's parents were all dumped in a corner. Mangled and decaying, barely alive. She smiled and picked up a random finger from the floor and took a bite on it.

"You should've left when you had the chance," she whispered and caressed Leo's rotten cheeks.
