Hold My Hand

"This is not a good idea. This is illegal." Erin muttered and held on my arm tighter. I chuckled and kissed her forehead.

"Trust me, babe. This would be fun. Just hold my hand the whole time so you won't get lost." I assured her and held her hand. She seemed convinced but still nervous. I shrug it off and we both entered the horror house. It was shut down and that's what she worried about. But for me, that only made it more exciting.

The place would be pitch black if not because of the flickering red lights on the hallway. But still, it's dark enough to make Erin scream. There are those classic ghosts and monsters. We are almost on the end, and I haven't screamed yet.

Fine. Only one time. When we passed in this coffin with a dead person in a torn ordinary black wear for the dead, inside and the lights went out. I lost my grip from Erin's hand as she screamed in a split-second but I had it back anyway. The make up looks so realistic. I really admire the effort they did for that dead man.

After we passed through that coffin, Erin fell quiet and her hand felt cold. Maybe she's traumatized or something. I decided to stop fooling around and got out of the damn horror house.

"Hey babe-" when I looked at where my girlfriend was supposed to be, I screamed in horror and dropped the severed hand I didn't realize I was holding the whole time.

I ran to the guard near the exit of the horror house  and reported the case. The guard is wearing an all black clothes with long sleeves longer than his arm. He looks really weird because he looks more like a Gothic kid than a security guard.  He gave me a stern but apologetic look.

"Sir, entering that horror house is illegal. We've shut that place down after the whole incident last year. An employee playing as the dead man inside the coffin had his hands chopped off by a drunken tourist. He bled to death and wasn't found right away because he's inside the coffin the whole time. The ghost of the man have been chopping off every visitors hand because he wants revenge. Sir, it's not our fault that you entered the place because the sign is huge and clear. I'm sorry but we cannot do anything about it." he gave me a sympathetic look.

"Fine!" I shouted as tears prickled my eyes. I called 911 and they responded almost immediately. They entered the horror house but found no tracks of Erin. Everything is perfectly normal and there are visitors inside. The strange thing is, that there's no dead man inside a coffin thingy. The police were disappointed because they thought that it was just some prank. They all left without a word.

I looked at the entrance and found that there's no sign saying that the place was shut down. I looked for the guard to complain, but when I found him, my blood ran cold.

He's wearing a sinister grin while looking at me straight in the eyes. Beneath those long sleeves were bleeding arms, losing their hands.
