"Are you sure that you want one of these living at your place?" Roger asked while we walked through the pet store, looking at the kittens and puppies. "I mean, you already hate Tom and Jerry, so why would you get him another one? Especially with the baby coming."

"I don't hate them- and that's exactly why I'm getting one, because the baby is coming. I read something about dads giving their partners presents after they have the baby, it's called a push present, and I thought I'd just get his now, while we have money." I explained and Roger sighed. "And it's his birthday today, and I forgot to get him a gift." I murmured, biting my lip while I looked around. I wanted his gift to be absolutely perfect, but I didn't know which cat he would've wanted.

Freddie said he wanted the baby to know the cats, because they were special to him and he wanted her to have a pet of her own. I thought they could share this one, Freddie's birthday present. I wondered what he was going to call it, he was always so interesting with the names- and he'd give them personalities that made me laugh a bit.

"This one looks posh like him." Roger tapped on the glass and the little kitten jumped to the glass, trying to scratch his finger. "Feisty, too, like him." He chuckled and I nodded with a bit of a laugh while I stepped closer to him.

I smiled down at the little kitten looked up at me with curious eyes. I looked over at the name plate and it said it was an unnamed female. Something told me that she'd fit in nicely with our newest little girl once she arrived.

"We're taking this one." I told Roger and he nodded a bit, then he went to search for the person in charge of selling the animals. "You're going to come home with me, little one. It's going to be so lovely for you." I tapped the glass, gently, and I smiled a little wider.

"I wonder when your daddy will be home." I sighed, rubbing my stomach while I walked around the living room- she was squirming around too much for me to sit comfortably. "Maybe he went back to his place- but that'd be weird because he knows we're staying at mine tonight."

Brian and I hadn't worked out who was being called what- I didn't want her getting confused about calling us both 'dad'. I called my dad 'papa,' and that was kind of what I wanted with my daughter. Papa sounded nice.

"Would you like to call me papa?" I asked, looking down at the bump while I made my way into the kitchen. "I think that would be alright, wouldn't it? I mean... I think daddy and I are going to be together for a long time, and so we're going to need two different names so we know who you're talking to." I explained, softly, while I poured myself some water. "What do you think daddy got us for my birthday?" He usually got food for me, which is why the baby and I would share.

I opened the fridge and there was a little note on the cake container that said: Freddie, you can wait until I get home. Don't eat this without me. xo, Brian. I sighed and slammed the fridge shut- I was hungry, so why the fuck was he taking so long?

The front door opened and I sighed, trudging out to meet him. I opened my mouth to yell at him when I saw him, but it quickly closed when I saw the lump in his jacket.

"Oh, please don't tell me you're pregnant, too." I sighed and he laughed, shaking his head.

"No, baby." He smiled, taking off his shoes and meeting me on the sofa. "It's your birthday present- well, one that you can share with the baby." He started to unzip his jacket and a little grey head popped out, making me squeal and laugh.

"Oh, Brian, you didn't." I cooed, taking the little kitten out of his jacket and holding it close to me. "Hello, you little cutie." I kissed the top of the kitten's head, and it mewed up at me before sticking its little tongue out.
