Come on i just need one more chance

Touka was sitting on the church tower when you found her, the whole incident with Tsukiyama had shaken everyone involved. That was the reason you weren't as affected as everyone else, you weren't involved.

You'd been out clearing your head, the events of the day having drove you insane. First Shinsetsu had tried to have a conversation about Touka, you didn't want to discuss it and tried to dodge the topic, but she wouldn't let it go. Your mother had apparently sunk her teeth into it and almost ranted at you, lecturing how much your comment had hurt Touka and how you were damaging the relationship. Gee, thanks.

University was a chore since Kaneki also wanted to have a pop at you, asking about you both. He was polite and nervous about asking, but what business was it of his anyway? Instead of snarling at him you though you just responded with "fine" to everything. "I'm fine." Or "It's fine."

Work was torture though, since you had to work with Touka and Kaneki. Kaneki and Shinsetsu were at least respectful enough, or afraid enough, to not push you too far with it. Touka though had absolutely no qualms about showing borderline contempt for you. In front of customers she was as friendly and polite as always, a trick she'd learnt from you. But as soon as the last one turned the corner all bets were off. She would shout at you, call you every name under the sun and curse the day you were born. "Charming woman." You painfully smiled, a twitch developing in your eyebrow.

A zodiac issue was going to boiling point as Virgo argued that Tskyiama should be let off the hook, though she got a call about half way through the meeting and rushed out in a panic. Aries was growing more and more rampart against a Aogiri attack and Leo was almost certain embezzling funds into his own account. It was a cluster fuck and the unity you'd worked so hard to build was crumbling, it was only a matter of time until someone challenged you as leader...

Or another coup.

You hadn't forgotten how you ended up in this position and there was little loyalty to each other in zodiac, you'd tried to build it in a way to prevent any side from being able to pull a victory if civil war broke out. Other things pondered on your mind too.

You didn't know who the Bandaged girl was, other then she was Aogiri. She called you nephew which disturbed you somewhat, your mother didn't have an siblings and she once mentioned an uncle on your fathers side that had died when he was a little older then you were now. She didn't seem old enough either, assuming she was in her thirties which you doubted, she would still have been around ten when you were born. She knew who you were, which in of itself was massive problem. You hadn't told the rest of the zodiac or anyone about it, it was just another crap problem for you to deal with.

The phone had rang suddenly, it was Touka. I don't want to talk to you. You'd thought as you cancelled the call, it was almost a full second before she rang back. After the way she'd treated you today, she didn't get to call back. If you spoke again, it be on your terms. She kept ringing and texting telling you to call her, in the end you just switched the phone off.

After the meeting, you turned it back on. Immediately it practically exploded with messages, mostly from Touka. It seemed like Tskyiama has made his move on Kaneki, not good!

"Fuck!" You exclaimed out loud, heart racing and bordering on panic. You called Touka, praying that she's answer. No response. "Come on come on come on come on!" You repeated as you called again. Still nothing. FUCK! Things were serious now. Reading  through the texts you managed to grab their location, the church. That's all you needed to know as you gunned it towards the church.

Please be alright. You begged silently in panic. Please please be ok. I'll do anything, I'll change my ways I'll be good and I'll treat you right. Even if your damaged and broken I'll take care of you.

Just be alive!

It was over by the time you arrived, the fight had been bloody and vicious. Everyone was hurt, Kaneki had few broken bones and Nishiki was beat to hell. Tskyiama has lost an arm and was mumbling incoherently. Everyone was hurt, but alive.

"What happened?! Where's Touka?!" You demanded, heart pounding. Kaneki managed to sit Himself up, albeit a little slowly with blood pumping from his shoulder.

"She saved us, then... then she ran off after..." He clammed up immediately, looking ashamed suddenly.

"After?!" You demanded.

"After..." Nishki muttered, limping with his girlfriend sustaining his weight. "She..."

"After she beat Tsukiyama." Kaneki interjected. Usually you would pick up on the interruption, but you honestly didn't care at the moment. "She ran outside, but she's fine."

"So she's not here?!" Kaneki shook his head sadly. "Fuck!" You cursed as suddenly turned and left as well. Standing outside the church you sniffed the air, searching for her scent. It was strong, she was defiantly here recently. She was hurt, but not by any means critically wounded. Touka wasn't one to lie down to lick her wounds, not unless it was serious, which it wasn't. Taking out your phone you tried to call her again.

She didn't answer, but you could hear the faint sound of a ringtone close by, from above? Looking up, you could faintly see the outline of a red kagune. Touka.

It was a quick climb up, partially going up the steps towards the bell tower, partially jumping up from the outside. Touka had her head buried in her arms with her knees, sobbing silently. Your heart stopped as you cautiously approached, unsure what to say or do. Touka wasn't an overly emotional person, sure she was given to outbursts of temper or melancholy, but not a full breakdown. You contemplated what to say, sitting silently next to her.

"Touka..."

"Shut up!" She growled, cutting you off harshly. "You weren't here. You say your working for us, you say that your doing it all for us... But what we need you, when I need you, where were you?!" She asked as she lifted her head up, tears streaming from her face and her red ghouls eyes were showing. The blood veins around her face were also aggressively exaggerated, clearly she was angry.

"I didn't realise..."

"WHERE?!" The hardness in her eyes frightened you, not because you believe she'd kill you or yeah she's physically attack you. It was because you'd seen that look before, years ago when she'd first moved in, for the first time in a long time, she hated you again.

"I... I, was in a meeting with zodiac." You muttered sheepishly, shame burning your cheeks. She shook her head in disgust.

"You and your stupid little fan club!" She snarled. "Why?! Why?! Why would you spend so much time with them?! When we need you?! When I need you?!"

"Because..." You didn't know what to say, searching your mind for the right words. "Because... because I'm..."

Silence was deafening as you sighed the stress of everything, from the last few days, weeks, and months suddenly crashed down on you. A great weariness gripped your body and it became difficult to stay awake, yet you had to fight to keep conscious. "Because I'm scared Touka." You told her. "I thought if I just work hard enough, it would all kinda... work out I guess. The truth is I'm scared of being alone again. When your born broken, you don't know what's wrong, but when someone fixes you it's impossible to go back to that. Touka, I promise I'll stop. Please just, just let me give you what you deserve. I'll... I'll stop the zodiac meetings, I'll take a few days of work, I'll..."

Your breathing was getting heavier now and it was difficult to maintain your composer. "I don't know what to do! I just need a chance, just... I just need to that chance to make everything right. To make sure nothing will happen to you, I don't want to loose anyone. I... I know I've been distant, but I promise, I swear on all that's holy or scared, I won't let you down again. I'm begging you touka, let me look after you, let me just... be there. Like, actually be there...

Please..."
