WHEN I opened my eyes, I was welcomed by the Fire Nation surrounding our campsite. I immediately sprang to my feet and into a fighting stance. My friends also jumped into action, obviously just as alarmed as I that the soldiers found us.

"Give up. You're completely surrounded," a soldier said. He was menacing and wild, and much different than the formal guards I had come across.

The men rode their rhinos, trapping us in their circle. Everyone was silent. Then, a soldier shot flaming arrows at Sokka, who tried to worm away in his sleeping bag. Aang quickly readied Appa to fly away, knowing that we were outnumbered and needed to flee. I joined him in preparing Bonbi for flight. However, I was struck with realization that Yue was nowhere to be found.

"Come on Naya hurry up!" Aang shouted at me.

"I need to find Yue!" I responded.

I desperately glanced around the campsite. I let out a sigh of relief when I spotted my koalaotter on the outside of the ring, staring helplessly at me. The only problem was, she was far away from Bombi and I.

"Follow me," I told my dragon. He purred in response.

I dashed across the scene to grab her. Flaming arrows were shot my way which I blocked by blowing gusts of air at them. My arms worked even fast than my legs, since each and every Fire Nation soldier attacked me at once. From behind, I could hear my friends cheering me on.

When I approached Yue, I momentarily stopped shielding myself, leaving me defenseless. I dove to the floor, scooping Yue into my arms as I slid on the ground right underneath a rhino. Bonbi ran near me and I got up and jumped, boosting myself off the ground with extra momentum from the earth. I landed and straddled my dragon, looking over to see my friends safely on Appa. I nudged Bonbi's side and we lifted off. Aang said his signal and Appa soared into the sky. One Fire Nation man fire bent at us as a last resort. I quickly diminished it by shooting white flames back and hitting him square in the chest.

"My boomerang!" Sokka cried.

I looked down at the ground to see his Water Tribe weapon laying on the floor in the midst of the attackers.

"We don't have time," Katara said.

My brother looked at my sister with wide eyes. "So you have time to get your scrolls, your animal, and your staff, but I can't get my boomerang?" He questioned.

"That's correct" Katara answered matter o factly.

"Oh," Sokka mumbled.

"SORRY about your boomerang," Aang said to Sokka once we were finally on the ground. As if brooding on the entire flight wasn't enough, Sokka continued to as we looked for supplies.

We landed in an Earth Kingdom village in anticipation of finding a vendor, which was hopefully far from the Fire Nation. We were too worn out to fight them.

"I feel like I've lost part of my identity. Imagine if you lost your arrow, Naya lost her dual-nation features, or if Katara lost her... hair loopies," Sokka said sadly, earning him a hug from Katara and a pat on the back from me.

"Here's your produce ponytail guy," the vendor said, gesturing him his food.

Sokka sighed, "I used to be boomerang guy."

Katara exchanged a few words with the vendor and I walked over to comfort my brother. I rubbed his back and Aang attempted to comfort him too. It seemed quite silly to be soothing him about a boomerang, but then again it was something he held very dear to him and I needed to respect that.
