HUNTER'S POV
I saw Payton on her phone sitting by herself. I was standing a little ways away from her just watching her,She made a funny face at something and it made me laugh slightly.
She shot her head up quickly " hunter ! for gods sakes you did it again." She laughed
I started towards where she was seated
"Did what ?" I asked
"Scared me, remember ? you gotta warn a girl if your in the room. Next time you could scare the crap outta me and I might accidentally smack you" she grinned deviously
I sarcastically scoffed at her comment.
"Soooooooooo" she tapped her hands on her knees
"Soooo" I looked around the room then looking at her.
"What's going on in there ?" she nodded her head towards the door leading in to the back room
"I don't know. They talked to me about my dream. Oh yeah ! you have the week off." I said
"I do ? why ?" she turned more in my direction
"They gave me the week off. So you have the week off." I said turning so I was facing her as well
"Oh...why did they give you the week off ?" she said curiously.
I didn't want her to think I was nuts for blowing up on everyone but I told her anyway
"Well I sorta just yelled at them.and broke down about working 24/7. I can't handle the non stop. I want to take time away and try and remember everything"
"I think that's good. I was wondering how long they could work you before you cracked. You should be resting and doing what you feel is right not being their little puppet" she scrunched her eye brows up into a semi dirty look and glanced at the door where everyone still was.
I adjusted in my seat getting more comfortable "Well I know they're just trying to do what's best but I really could use a break. I'm sure your happy about that" i said
"I guess" she said dully
"What ? your not ? you would rather spend time with a geek like me ?" I laughed
"Your not a geek hunter but I do enjoy playing music and writing with you. I've been so used to it that I don't know what I'll do with myself for a whole week" she laughed
"Just do nothing like me." I offered
"That's probably what it'll come down to" she sighed laughing
We didn't say anything for a few minutes. She scrolled through things on her phone and so did I until Payton perked up
"Hey if you have the week off then why stay here ? I'll give you a ride home ?" she asked
"You don't have to. You always give me a ride." I said laughing
"I don't mind hunter, I'm kinda hungry we could go grab something before I take you home ?" She pushed
"It's ok you don't have to do all that" I politely declined
"I know I don't have to, I want to. What, you don't like hanging out with me ? I'm hurt" she faked cried
"No I just don't want to be a burden" i laughed at her dramatic sarcasm
She laughed lightly and leaned back scrolling through her phone again"We're friends hunter ? your not a burden" she smiled shaking her head
I was a little set back by this. I never thought about me and Payton being friends. I guess we were. We spent time together and we liked the same stuff. If someone asked me who she was I would probably saw that my friend like I would one of the guys. I guess because I didn't remember her that I couldn't see her as friend. But now I see it. She was really nice to me and I liked that.
