~ a week later~
HUNTER'S POV
"Payton c'mon we've been at this forever ! nothing's going to work we have 2 completed practice songs. Isn't that enough ?" I whined
"No. Hunter c'mon we have to get you used to writing a full album. It will help when you write by yourself. Have you tried doing that ?" she asked me
"No. I can't think of anything for some reason. It's like my mind is a total blank." I said
"Well you are missing part of your life hunter. It will come to you" she smiled
"Yeah. I mean I can write but it's songs that I already kinda had ? you know what I mean ? what's in my head has already been done ? all my ideas are finished from my first album. And all the experiences that I could use to write a new one are gone" I sighed
"It'll be ok." She smiled looking down at her notebook.
I gotta admit. It was going to be really hard to fire Payton. She was so nice but I just felt that once I got my memory back I wouldn't need her.
"I hope I get it back soon. That way you won't have to bother with me anymore" I laughed lightly.
"No I don't mind hunter. I like writing with you." She said sincerely
"Yeah but I bet you'd rather have a different job. One where you didn't have to deal with all this" I said
"No I like it here everyone is super nice. And it's tough finding a permanent writing job." She said
"Oh really ? I bet I could find you a way better job than working with me" I laughed
"I doubt it. It's cool working with you" she smiled at me.
Ugh. Really ? why does she gotta be so cute and nice ? I had to man up.
"Payton ?" I raised my head
"Yeah ?" she poked her head up to look at me
"Um. Well. It's just I don't know if I'm going to need a writer when I get my memory back ? do I ?" I asked
"I don't know ? you told Betsy it was ok to hire a writer before ?" she questioned me back
I couldn't remember hiring Payton so I wasn't sure why I needed her.? What had happened to me ? why was I so stuck that I needed a new writer ? I wish I could have my memory back.
"I was really that stuck ?" I asked
"Apparently" she giggled
"Maybe you should stick around. Just in case" I smiled
"No problem" she smiled playfully smacking my leg
Damn it ! of course I chicken out ! I didn't have the heart to just straight out and tell her that she wasn't going to work with me when I remember everything. I guess I'll have to wait until I get it all back and then I'll make something up so I don't hurt her feelings.
~next day~
PAYTON'S POV
I was unbelievably stressed. I had to lie to hunter about EVERYTHING. every little thing that came out of my mouth was a lie. At first I didn't like the kid but sam was right. When he's happy he's a different person and I started to care. I'm not really a liar so having to lie 24/7 was tough. I was happy that hunter had to go meet with Atlantic records so I had the day off.
"Lucas ?" I hollered for him
"What ?" he said dryly
"What's the matter ? you've been in a pissy mood for over a week" I snapped
