Chapter Forty Four.
I am worried. I never expected to see George in the burial.
I had really insisted on not attending but Vin insisted that I should go.
We walk out of the tent and I don't speak a word to anyone. I am tensed so much tensed and I decide to keep quiet.
If I had my way, I would had solved the mystery. I would leave this village and not return again ever.
Well, they say east or west, home is the best but I keep wondering what type of home I was born to?.
I'm yet to confirm this because home has become too hot for me.
It's burning hot! In fact blazingly hot!
“Baby,” Bob's sweet and sexy voice startles me and I turn to look at him.
We are in Steve's car headed to God knows where.
He says George will be coming after us as promised so we need to be ahead of them in thinking.
George is an old man who can get any mature woman so I don't know how or why he is hell bent obsessed with me.
“Yes dearie.”
“I am here for you. Just relax.”
“Until when will I keep relaxing? I am being chased left right and centre. I can't sleep like a normal girl my age. I can't walk around like anyone my age. I can't even talk to people freely without freaking out. I am hated by almost everyone.”
“That is not true. We love you little sis.” Steve says from my left side. He decided to sit with us at the back as Job took the wheel and his beautiful girl shotgun.
I feel tears welling and I don't do a thing to stop them from pouring.
I let them out.
Steve rubs my back fondly as Bob holds me tightly.
I feel his warmth and thank God for bringing him to me.
“You know we should just go back to the city. You will be safer there.” Bob says and I want to lift my head from his warm chest to look at him but his grasp is quite firm.
“Yes Lynn. And if you ask me, this is not a question. You are coming with us to the city.” Steve says sternly.
‘’And leave my mom with who?’’
‘’When last were you at the hospital?’’
‘’The day we were with all of you.’’
‘’Who has been taking care of her all this while you haven’t been going?’’
‘’Do I really care? But I guess it’s my sister.’’
‘’So what’s the ‘and leave my mum with who’ all about?’’ Steve asks making the quote signs with his long fingers and Bob gives him a glare.
I don’t respond because I think I don’t understand why I want to act like ‘a good daughter’ all over sudden.
I must be the most confused thing ever. Thing? Me calling myself thing? Ok George sees me as a play thing! Sam took me as his doll to toy and derive pleasure then dump! And talk about Sam, just like the saying, talk about the devil and it appears.
We end up in this very fancy restaurant and my face lightens up when I see Marie, she is with Sam and I am really very happy for them.
If Sam ever decided to fight back like those two lunatics, I would be dead by now. It’s not very easy to have two three maniacs against you.
