Chapter Twenty Two.

Lynn

Whom have I offended this much? Why is my life this crazy mess? Will I ever get back to the peaceful me? Will whoever I have offended forgive my sins?

Torrents of tears are flowing involuntarily and smoothly as I ask myself a myriad of questions, I am only a young girl, not twenty yet but I have gone through more than three quarter of what my own mum has gone through in her whole life.

Where did the rain start beating me?

I guess that's a hard question to answer since I hadn't even realised that I was being rained on.

I am lying on my big bed, my stomach pressed on the mattress and my eyes staring at the beautifully painted wall blankly.

Well, there is nothing specific to stare at but I stare anyway.

My life is officially a mess.

What would I have done not to end up in such a mess? I hear a knock on the door and I check on the white sheet that I just drenched

I walk unwillingly and lazily towards the door.

''Hey Lynn,''

''Hey Vin,''

''Had a good night sleep?'' She asks and I just nod.

''How about you ?'' My voice is shaking and I watch her searching my expression.

''You have been crying Lynn?'' She asks and I shake my head blinking randomly to keep the tears at bay as much as I can.

My phone chimes and when I check the caller, I force a smile. It's dad.

''Hello dad.''

''My daughter how are you?''

''I am fine dad, how about you?''

''I'm okay thank you. It's been a while dear, everything okay?''

''Yes dad, everything is good I thank God.''

''Are you sure you are okay? Have you been crying?''

''No dad I am good.''

''My daughter, an old man like your dad here is not to be lied to. Remember you can always count on me and I know you too well to know when you are not okay.'' My heart leaps and I thank God for this old man, he has made my life the best.

''Thank you dad, you are the best ''

''You are welcome, now tell your dad what the issue is.''

''Dad there is not....''

''Lynn!''

''Yes dad,''

''I am your dad remember!''

''Okay dad, why am I being forced to get married to Toney? Is he the only man alive? Don't you know he is a spoilt brat and that he told me that he always gets whatever he wants?''

''My dear daughter, what a wise man can see sitting, you cannot be able to see even if you climb the tallest tree in the world. Do not get married to that boy, I don't approve of that marriage, you will suffer.'' That moment my confusion goes a notch higher, I thought they supported it? Anyway, I have always known that it was my mum's idea. Now I confirm.

''Okay dad, thank you and believe me that has never been my intention.'' My mood brightens and Vin's changes too.

''Thank you my daughter, may God bless your ways, have a good day.''
