Have you ever felt...?

Have you ever felt

That this life isn't right?

And have you ever wished,

You didn't have to try?

Have you ever felt,

That nothing stays the same?

And have you ever thought,

Of the way people change?

Have you ever felt,

That all is just unfair?

And have you ever seen,

The breakdown of despair?

Have you ever felt,

The light draining away?

And have you ever begged,

For somebody to stay?

Have you ever felt,

As though no one really cares?

And have you ever tried,

Have you ever dared?

Have you ever felt,

The way so many feel?

That this world is disaster,

That this world can't be real?

Have you ever felt,

As though you might just drown?

From all the stress around,

And the terror pulling down?

If you have felt like this,

You are not alone,

Millions of others,

Also struggle on their own.

It's hard to understand,

Why we feel so strange,

Empty and yet full,

As though nothing will change.

I wish that I could help you,

Help you all to see,

That you are not alone,

This doesn't have to be.

Yet we will remain silent,

With smiles stitched in pain,

Upon the very faces,

We wish would go away.

We keep it bottled up,

And say that "all is fine!",

When really we are crumbling,

Into a dust so fine,

That no amount of grasping,

At grit which once was us,

Will bring us back together,
