After 7 months...

“Are you ready Ganda?” Bryle asked me while smiling at me. His eyes shine with love and happiness.

I slowly nod and stood up, held my right hand to him. He took it and squeezed it slightly before pulling me closed to him. He hugged me and whispered ‘I love you’ to me.

It’s been months since I last saw Clarence. Seven months to be exact. The annulment papers have been signed. We’re over. Legally over. He never showed up, he never bothered calling us. I guess that’s what meant to happen. Me and him are supposed to be away from each other.

“You don’t know how happy I am right now. Best birthday I will have in my whole life. Just having you beside me is heaven.” he said lovingly. Playing with the tip of hair that was in his hand. He grinned down at me and I grinned back at him.  “I love you Ganda. Always and forever.”

I put my arms around his neck and scrape his jawline, then trailed small kisses up to his lower lip. I gave him a peck then smiled lovingly. “I love you too. Happy birthday, hon.”

Today’s his birthday. 24th birthday, and the first birthday he’ll be celebrating with me beside him. Bryle’s always been there for me, through the good times and ofcourse the bad times. He’s been a shoulder to cry on. Someone I can trust, someone I lean on.

“Thanks Ganda. Tara na sa baba, hinihintay na tayo nila baby Cla at Georgie.”

“Sage, please wake up. Please... It’s been months... Please wake up.”

He felt a hand on his right shoulder. He turned his head and saw Kate standing behind him, looking sad. The pain he can see within her eyes is exactly the same pain showing within his.

“You need to rest, Vash. She will wake up, for you, for me, for us. She’s strong, she’s--” She didn’t finished her sentence and broke down. She cried again.

It has been 7 long months after the unfateful accident that killed the life of his brother, Vince. And now, the woman who was once caught his heart is still in coma.

“Why won’t she wake up? Sage... My sister...” Kate just continued crying like a child.

Vash shook his head and a tear rolled down from his eye. “I don’t know... If I could just give her my own life, I would.”

“She’s still young, just 18 years old. She could do a lot of things. Explore the world, marry the man who will swept her off her feet. She’s... tough but why isn’t she waking up?”

It was hard for him to watch Kate in agony, and to see Sage in that state. He felt like dying... The unfinished business he came for still remains unfinished and it’s killing him. He wanted to go back to Canada, to fight for the woman who has caught his heart but he just can’t leave the country. Not while Sage is in this condition.
