Abbey's death

The sound of her footsteps thumped against the cobbles as she bounded out into the town. Abbey had just taken the potion given to her by Lir to help her magic, and she wanted to help.

That would be enough, right? Her magic was weak, but it would be enough. She could do it.

Fire circled around everyone. It was hot and made your flesh feel like ice cream dropped on the pavement on a sunny day, melting rapidly. Sweat dripped down her brow. She could see Prince Aidan- if you could still even consider him a prince. He had royal blood and royal magic, but he was long disowned by his parents after his declare of war against them. Now there he was, fighting his own younger siblings.

Abbey could hear their thoughts. Every single panicked soldier, all three of the royal triplets. They were only seventeen, and fighting a war. Hell, she was seventeen and about to fight in a war. This wasn't right. Her skin prickled and her blood boiled. This was a brutal attack, innocent people were getting hurt. There were children here, running and being guided out or being treated. Some even lay dead on the floor, their blood spilt down the cobbles they'd once played hopscotch on, some brutally burnt to death. This had to end.

Before she knew it, she had flung herself at the main man- Aidan. She wrestled to grab a knife from his belt as he started pushing her off him. She needed to stop this. She needed to stop this. She needed to-

She was struck. She didn't know whether it was knife or magic, but it was something. Either way, it felt like burning. And it was right in her stomach. She let out a loud gasp, then a grunt

She looked down to see a knife covered in deep crimson. Well, that answered the question of what struck her. She looked back up to see a smirk on Aidan's face. "I win!" She fell back away from him as he retreated, now satisfied with his work. She failed, now she was going to die.

Aidan and his army was soon gone, and she was laid in the ashes. She heard a shriek and then her ears began to ring. There was angry cries, she heard a thud and saw Aidan throw Lir to the floor as she tried to throw herself at him like Abbey had.

She started to cry. The pain was starting to get unbearable and she scrunched her face up, choking out a strangled cry for help.

Soon she saw three people hovering over her. She recognised the first as Finn. She could see his hat, he'd always loved it. He was frowning deeply, and his eyes were glossy. He looked scared. Or, maybe Abbey was just imagining it.

The other she studied a bit before realising it was Lir. There was her dyed blue hair, messy and disheveled from battle. Abbey had never seen Lir like this, she was normally neat and making herself look pretty. Just like Finn's, Lir's steely grey eyes also glossed over with tears, a few already flowing. Her lips were slightly parted, forming a shocked little "O".

Then, there was another face. Their hair was messy and curly, and a bright, obnoxious red with dark brown roots coming through the top. They had deep brown eyes that had big, fat tears falling and rolling down their red, blotchy cheeks, and snot coming from their now red, freckled nose.

Jenny!

Jenny was sobbing. She was on her knees weeping next to Abbey, holding her hand and resting her forehead on hers. She was whimpering final I love you's and various other sweet nothings that Abbey couldn't even make sense of in her current state. Abbey was just panicking, begging and sobbing to Jenny. She was whispering a pained "please" and "I don't want to die" repeatedly, her mind foggy with fear.

Jenny kept making comforting shushing sounds and peppering her face with little kisses, "it's ok, It's ok. You're gonna be ok. I love you so, so, so much. We're gonna be ok. You're gonna be ok, and we'll be able to properly end this, and we can have our happily ever after!"
