Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

The sound I least wanted to hear sounded in my drowsy mind as I began to become more alert and opened my eyes groggily. I widened them a second later.

My eyes were greeted with a dark, starry black sky with moonless light reflecting on the soft grass around me. The stars twinkled, and shined across the sky as I shifted into a sitting position and looked around.

Where am I?

I kept wondering to myself as I scanned my surroundings and took in my situation

I was not where I expected to be, on a hospital bed with immense pain coming from every limb. No. Instead I looked to be in the middle of a forest clearing with huge trees towering over me on each side. A bigger, blue glowing tree stood directly in front of me, and with a gasp I remembered where I was.

I was in the forest, I had been in when I saw that strange creature the night before. I looked around and tried to spot anything out of the ordinary of the last dream, but saw nothing and looked back at the huge towering tree in front of me.

The spirit tree.

The name suddenly appeared in my head with no explanation, but with a few seconds to think, I managed to put two and two together. The tree I was staring up at now was called the spirit tree; the name seemed fitting for a structure as big and majestic as this, but after a few seconds of admiring the view, confusion set in and I looked around.

Why was I here again, and what did this repeated dream mean. It certainly meant something or another, but what, was another question.

Unlike the other dream I had, this time the forest wasn't on fire, but a few movements in the depths of the forest caught my eye. So I got up and began to move around, with only a slight throbbing pain in my head.

The beeping noise I had heard before I opened my eyes had long since faded, leaving me in an almost complete silence. Though the wind picked up occasionally, rustling the leaves in the trees and nearby bushes. Managing to creating an eerie atmosphere that only made me feel all the more anxious.

I suddenly stood at attention as a loud bang followed by roaring sounded loudly in the distance. I got up and ran in that direction as fast as I could as more of the noises followed, but a new noise joined it a second later. A sort of pained high pitched grunt, it set my heart racing as I pushed myself to go faster, whatever it was, it sounded like fighting.

I rounded a corner of a small mountain of rock and skidded to a stop as my eyes widened as I realised what was unfolding before my eyes. The creature I had seen in my dream the night before stood there, its stance in that of a person fighting. I looked in the direction of where it was looking and saw what looked like a black plated rhino charging at the creature. It charged forward, but the creature still didn't move until it was only inches away, to suddenly jump high into the air above it. But not without an injury did it escape. The creatures foot failed to get out of the creatures path in time, and the creature let out the same pained echoey grunt I had heard before, followed by a thud as it hit the ground.

Light red blood oozed from the wound on its foot the creature had suffered in an attempt to avoid its charge. It rolled over onto its back and tried to get up, but suddenly stopped as the black rhino got ready to charge again. The creature suddenly closed its eyes in anticipation of the finally blow. But I reacted before that could happen. I picked up a rock from the floor at my feet and, just as it started its charge, threw it at the creature for it to scream in pain. I blinked as the rock flew through the air, that wasn't a rock anymore. It now looked more like a white, glowing shard of glass.
