(Third person)
The office was darkly lit and brown in colour of the furniture and walls. There was barely a sound, other than the light scribbling of a pen on paper and the wet sounding splash of cars passing through snow outside.
The man sat ther, in question was way above average in height, standing at around seven feet tall; an average height for the people of his world, but incredibly tall for the people of this one. His desk was also higher than the average one; too tall for a human, but the perfect height for him, as it was made especially for his kind.
His real name was, Gryd, but he preferred to go by his undercover name, Calvin griss. His skin was a light grey colour, giving another indication that he was not human; and almost entirely telling of what race he was part of.
A race from a fairly restricted dimension, known only as, the Garther district. And just like him, they were tall and had similar names. But none would ever have a situation as bizarre as his.
Almost four days ago from now; three of their best young agents had abruptly resigned from they're post beside one of the country's best hunter company's. This was greatly unexpected in itself, but what was even more confusing, was that they had completely disappeared the day after: barely leaving a trace of where they went.
But it was what little they did leave that eventually gave them away.
After working tirelessly with his colleagues and best magicians they had finally deciphered the complex magic pattern left behind when they left. But it should be said that their voices were heard in a hideout in the forest shortly before a magic explosion, followed by silence as they yanked open the door and went inside: they found nothing.
Nothing human anyway.
What they did find however, was a number of fragmented pages looking half charred and worn out from age. It gave them little to work with, but the magic pattern they left behind gave them enough regardless; they're only real hurdle, however, was deciphering the thing.
It took less then a day, but thoroughly exhausted almost every magician involved. Going as far as putting a handful in a three day coma: they were fine of course.
But now that the code was cracked and revealed the words and spell used to go were they went; He wasn't sure he believed even himself for a moment.
It wasn't just teleportation to one of the more common and easier realms to teleport to. This was different, much different. It was a realm practically off the radar in most cases, and only vaguely mentioned in the rarest of books.
Nibel.
A forest lost to time, it said.
Almost instantly, he grew confused; he had no knowledge of hearing of such a place; but when word was brought to one of the company's best and most trusted scholars, he froze stone still.
"Nibel..." He had said.
"I haven't heard that name in bloody years!" He shouted, his face was a strange mix of, anger, worry, and sadness.
He got up from his chair and walked over to a neat looking but large bookshelf in the corner. He scanned briefly through the books before clawing one out and throwing it to, Gryd.
