Sorry this chapter came a little late, I didn't have time to proofread it. But on another note, does anyone know what's going on with accessing your own stories on Wattpad. I can no longer access my stories directly from my profile page, is this an IOS thing or is it the device I'm using. If anyone has been experiencing something similar please tell me if theirs a method to fix it.
Aru's heart beat was beating at a near record breaking speed, but considering his size he didn't pay it too much mind. He instead focused on running, whether that require slipping through cracks in the trees, or flying through the air without touching the ground through the use of his leash.
He abruptly pushed himself from a tree and rocketed away as he winced, something flying at him from behind. And not a second later, a small stone struck the tree where he had been hanging from, scratching the bark and causing Aru's heart to jump into his throat.
Too close!
He had been doing this for almost two hours now, and he was starting to feel tired, made obvious by his sluggishness that was beginning to appear.
A laugh broke out from behind Aru, making his blood turn as he turned around. Of course, it was still the same girl carrying a handful of stones with messy hair with an almost insane but joyful expression.
"So close!" She giggled to herself. "But how much longer can you last?" She arched her arm back and threw another stone.
Aru dodged this one with ease, as he already expected it.
He felt a hint of annoyed competitiveness surge in his heart, but a faint smiled cracked his lips as he once again shot off ahead into the forest.
Em laughed loudly, though tiredly, as she began charging after him with more stones in hand. She made an effort to pick the smallest stones, and although she had no intention of hurting him, she still had to be accurate.
If questioned, both would without a doubt say that this was the most fun either of them had in weeks. But as this continued, it was undoubtably beginning to take its toll on them both, and pretty soon, Aru predicted that they both wouldn't be waking for a good few hours after.
This had began when the girl, Emily, had grown annoyed by Aru's constant evasion of her, and in turn, Aru was both confused and annoyed at her persistence. But she had eventually grown so annoyed that she had scooped up a stone off the ground and threw it at him with a huff.
He had been on the ground when it happened which gave him enough room to dodge, but it had left him feeling annoyed. So, in his small act of defiance, he had picked up another, much smaller stone, and thrown it back. It had hit her shoe, leaving her momentarily shocked.
But then a vaguely evil grin had spread across her face, as she proceeded to pick up more stones. Aru had narrowed his eyes at her, but before he could even blink, she had begun throwing them all at an alarming speed, forcing Aru to stumble as he dodged.
Aru smirked competitively as he got to his feet, and the girl noticed, which had eventually led to this. But no matter how hard she had tried this far, she still hadn't managed to hit Aru even once with a stone. Aru had found this funny, and thrown stones at her instead in provocation.
She had gone red in the face more than a few times, and with it, her accuracy seemed to increase, almost catching him a few times.
But what amazed Aru the most, and to an extent, the girl. Was that all of this had built up and happened all in the same day, and in a startlingly short timeframe as well. Even the scarred man, who spied on the situation from his window was astonished, but happy nonetheless.
