This one is an idea from Writingintheattic. Thought it was a good one. So let's see what Common has ta say.
Folks just sittin around feelin sorry fer myself. Lan sakes, such gloom has set in. Ya know, when ya think about all the thins ya should of done, or did.
Like my Pa never once said love ya like I did ta Momma. Well, let's talk about this a spell. My Regrets.I regret not figurin out, what my Pa did fer me. Till it was ta late ta do the same Folks. Yes, I really do. Didn't cross my mind till I was ta old ta do anythin.
I mean figured it out, get it right Common.Ya say, what did Chester Howard do, that others did? Think about it, most Rangers I have met. Don't even know if the guy that trained them is truly they Pa. Hell only one I know of is Jacob Parson.
Norm didn't have a clue if his Pa was actually his or not. I know for a fact Chester took me on and wasn't my real Pa. So, Folks, I Regret not doin what my Pa did, not taken on a youngster ta help give him a better life. May not be the best life, better than the chance they gots.Next, hell dealin out Justice. How many could I of been wrong on? Did I just do and not think? Know for a fact was wrong least once. Here's what happened. Best I can remember the facts.
Young Ladies were bein raped and killed in four towns I know of. Only lead was one survived. She got a decent look at him, so she said. Started in Savannah moved ta Valdosta, ended so I thought in Mobile. Plus little villages in between the larger towns. They were a mangled mess, tore open like sacks of grain. Parts removed, womb and such.
Made me ill ta look at them poor dead girls. Have ta say, girls. None were older than twelve. Not quite age of marriage.Well, like I said
One survived the killer was scared off, people heard the scuffle goin on. This where it all truly begins. After the poor girl was cleaned up and calmed down some. We talked. She had a blanket wrapped around her cup of tea in her hand. I asked best you can remember what happened? All the details try and give me them best you can. She said she was thirteen, this fit the pattern, year older not out of his pattern. Told me it was dark, felt like she was bein followed. So she took the shortest route home, James and Port alleyway. Where she was grabbed from behind.
Blade against her throat said he caressed her face called her a young Pleasantry worker. Then pulled her dress up. Folks, ya know what happened next those details need not be talked about. Then he beat on her, had his way again. Asked what he look like. Thin almost small for a man. Thin scruffy beard, thinks he had short hair. Hat covered his head. She said she fought back when she knew it was over. He was breathin real heavy like a dog.
Knife ready ta cut, she kicked and screamed. Till help showed. Also said his voice I'll know if I hear it.Townspeople found one looked like him, so I get the young girl. She listens to him talk. She said looks like him sounds like him. Well, I publicly kill the young man, sixteen years young. Hang him, that went wrong, by any standards. Jerked his head plum off. I heads out, get news another rape not but two days ago, same thing. Eleven this time.
Raped breasts removed neck cut open head damn near off. Folks I regret killin that young man, should of checked double and triple checked. I didn't I killed an innocent boy! I still see that face before I sleep! Beth don't know or Liz I live with his death on my mind and hands. That White, Bastard
You know who he is, remember him? My real dad, one that got Momma pregnant. Nothing more than the he bull. All he was, weren't no Pa! Weren't a man either. Worthless snake in the grass. Killed his wife, tried ta blame Momma ta my face. Then his Butler. Gots him ta fess up. Now the Regret part, the way I dealt out Justice. Folks told ya I didn't want ta talk about this once. Need ta clear my chest of this.
White died a very long painful death. Cuts just deep enough ta bleed. Several hundred of them.
I watched him squirm and bleed. If he passed out.
I waited till he came too. Cut some more. That lasted till almost daylight. Then I ended it, beat him till he died. Yes, Folks Common went past his rights and past a Rangers rights of Justice that night. I broke the edge and went over it!My true regret isn't killin the Bastard it's how I done it. That Folks was wrong, a Ranger should deal out Justice on me. I can still hear his screams on occasion.
Maggie My First Love
This one pains me ta no end, I was wrong from the start. Maggie Orleans way. Remember her? How I got all worked up over her sayin our daughter needed ta die. Wasn't Shield worthy. Well, Folks I figured out later, it was her way. Of dealin with pain. She was hurtin I didn't know how ta help or couldn't see she needed it. Some grieve different than others. Heard she had another daughter name of Beth wonders never cease.
Lost a leg in the Cut Throat battles, not Stanson's group, they were from the South Americas. She took up a Pleasantry House after. Heard she died while back. Maggie if ya hear me? I am sorry, dear lady. You still have a place in my heart. Folks I truly regret this one, I love Beth and Liz. What could of been? If I only knew. I Regret not standin by you Maggie.
So many just how can a man live with himself? Regrets Folks, don't let them build up. They'll tear you apart. Hope I get out this gloomy mood. Next time if they is one. Well, you know till then.
