Chapter 29

"I hope you want to stay for a long time, because my heart really likes you."

After our date, Seokjin drove us back to my apartment. The radio played a soft mellow song which filled the otherwise awkward silence. Seokjin was focused on getting me safely home, but we did have a nice conversation before the night grew silent.

I was still flustered by the kiss on my cheek as I relived the moment. It was so sudden and it was a bold move that I wasn't expecting from him. He seemed to be more traditional and safe– gentlemen like. It caught me off guard and as expected caused my words to get jumbled up. Luckily, he never seems to notice it. Or maybe he does and doesn't say anything to save me the embarrassment.  It was a sweet thought if it was the latter, most guys would probably just start teasing and making fun of it.

Suddenly, my ears felt the soft lyrics of the song as the group's vocals brought the poetic lyrics to life. The song is by– you guessed it– BoysBe as part of their final comeback together as seven members.

The song, ironically enough, was a love song about the struggles of confessing to your first love and how we overthink everything.

I couldn't help feel somewhat targeted by their words, but not going to lie– this was a pretty good song.

There was one line that stood out to me a lot in the chorus.

"내 마음은 정말 당신을 좋아하기 때문에"

I never understood romance a lot before, but as I felt the way my heart pounded when I had my fingers brush against my cheek, I felt that slowly changing.

It wasn't long until we finally arrived to my apartment building as he parked his car in the parking lot and took me all the way up to my apartment door.

"Thank you. For this date." I said as soon as we got to the door and I turned around to face him.

"I should thank you. I never had so much fun on a date before."

"Yeah, me neither." I said as we started to laugh.

"Actually, I don't think I've ever had this much fun with anyone. Even though we've only known each other for a few months, I feel like we have a really special connection."

"Me too."

"Which is why I guess I want to make things clear and official."

"Official?" I asked, feeling my heart beat a little faster.

He nodded. "Yes. I felt like this for some time now." He took both my hands into his and held them. "So, Min Hyunjae, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.

It took me awhile to wrap my brain around his words. I almost wanted him to say it again to make sure my ears weren't lying to me.

Yes.

That's what I wanted to say. Was there any other answer I would give? That I could give?

Here I stood in front of my crush who happens to feel the same way about me. I must have done something right in my past life to have this amazing men before me.

"I know this might be coming out of nowhere and a little too soon maybe, but I really do believe we have a really special connection." He looked away, looking slightly nervous. It was cute. "Of course if you need time to think about it, I'll give it to you. And I'll support whatever answer you give me."
