"It is a wise father that knows his own child."
"He's coming back." Jungkook said. "Today." He quickly added.
"What? And you're just now telling me?" I said, flabbergasted.
He shrugged his shoulders. "Guess I forgot."
"How do you forget? Literally your father went missing for like three months and most of the company thinks he's either dead or probably got kidnapped by the mafia."
"Aren't you exaggerating?"
"No. I walk into that break room and hear a new conspiracy theory about what happened to your dad almost everyday."
"I thought we made it pretty clear he was fine after I heard the real news."
"You mean the notice you sent after the police visited you suddenly telling everyone and I quote 'I am sorry for all the recent troubles and concerns, but there is no need to worry about the old chairman any longer.'"
"Yeah, I was very clear that he was fine." He said as if nothing sounded wrong.
"What? Did homeschooling kill all your social skills?" I said mockingly. "Even I didn't know about how your dad was doing."
"Well it was harder for me tell you since you're like family. Besides it doesn't matter we had a meeting with all of the upper and middle management, so they know all the full details already."
"Meeting? What meeting?"
"You weren't called in for that day. It was on one of your day off."
"I see." I look down at the clipboard I was holding. "What's the point of being your assistant if I don't know anything?"
"I gave you this job so we can catch up." He starts. He then stops, taking a moment to collect his thoughts. "But business is business, I guess that's why they say don't mix friendship and business."
"Your dad and my dad have been in business together for like twenty years and nothing bad came out of it."
"Yes, maybe back then. But times have changed. It's not like that anymore."
"Why is it–"
"If you weren't my friend, you'd probably would've been fired or gotten someone else fired right now and that's the honest truth."
