"Sabit?"- he's confused. "Maine, hindi kita maintindihan. Anong sabit ang sinasabi mo?"- he asked confused.
"Alden naman. Wag mo naman akong pag laruan."- she sarcastically let out a chuckle.
"Hindi kita pinag lalaruan Maine."- he assured her. "Palagay ko hindi tayo nagkaka intindihan, let me drive you home for now."- he insisted and didn't wait for her to decide. He immediately opened the door in the passenger's seat for her, before turning to the driver's seat. Alden texted Jerald, -one of his friend- to pick his car , before he started the engine.
As they made their way out to the grocery's store, they savored each others presence in silence, but keeping their eyes ahead. There's no one to both of them had the guts to start a conversation. -or another argument-.
When Alden finally parked Maine's car on her garage, he immediately followed Maine inside her house when he finally got a guts to explain --to clear things up-- with her.
He saw Maine sitted on the right corner of the long couch in her living room, so he decided to take a sit at the left corner. They stared at each other for a few second as if there eyes deciding who'll be the first to talk.
"What happen to us Maine? I thought we're in good term, have I done wrong? Please let me know, please let us fix this."- Alden pleaded with a pain in his eyes, still staring at her.
Her heart wanted to exclaimed in happiness because of the word US. But she knew that there's nothing like that in the first placed. Minsan palang silang nag date at sinira pa iyon ng babaeng nagsasabing girlfriend ni Alden na ngayon ay buntis.
"Your girlfriend is pregnant, you're going to have a family soon, so why do we still have to fixed everything?"- she asked. "There's no us in the first placed Alden."- she stated.
"I don't have a girlfriend to be pregnant."- he assured her. "Kung sino man ang may sabi ng kasinungalingan na yan, I'll make sure na makikita niya ang hinahanap niya."- he said not giving any detail.
She started to tell Alden everything what Janine said to her, what happened that day , the whole reason why she's acting like that right after that dinner date. At hindi parin makapaniwala si Alden na nagawa ni Janine ang mga iyon. They've been friends for 3 years, alam niyang may gusto si Janine sakanya kaya ito nakipag kaibigan noon pero ang alam niya hanggang dun lang iyon dahil alam niyang may iba siyang mahal, hindi niya akalaing gagawin niya iyon para lang layuan siya ni Maine.
Alden's POV.
Nung gabing iyon plano ko na talagang sabihin sakanya kung ano ang tunay kong nararamdaman, naghihintay lang ako ng tyempo, pero biglang dumating si Janine at kung ano anong pinag sasabi.
Sinabi niyang girlfriend ko daw siya, nakita ko sa mata ni Maine na nasasaktan siya sa mga naririnig niya, I wanted to explain pero hindi niya ako pinakinggan at umalis. Gusto ko siyang habulin, gusto kong magpaliwanag but Janine wrapped her arms around me, pinigilan niya akong umalis, pinag titinginan na kami ng mga tao kaya hinayaan ko nalang muna si Maine at kinausap si Janine. Hindi magandang biro ang ginagawa niya, hindi ko iyon pinalampas at pinagsabihan siya.
"I'm sorry Alden pero wala na akong choice. Kailangan kong gawin to."- that was exactly the last words she told me after she left. Hindi ko siya maintindihan pero hinayaan ko nalang siyang umalis.
"It's my turn then?"- I asked after hearing Maine's story. She nodded before he continued. "Remember when I told you, that I'm currently unavailable?"- I asked and she nodded.
