Chapter Fifteen - Memories

OK, sorry about the pants title to this chapter, but I couldn't think of anything else.  Suggestions anyone?

Chapter Fifteen. - Memories

Cold and shivering I was sitting in a small ball at the bottom of the shower,  my hair plastered down my face and down my back.  The door was kicked in and Angelo rushed in, scooping me up in his arms, a terrified look on his face.  "If that b*stard has harmed a hair on your head...."he started, trying to inspect my naked body.  I started screaming at him and punching him to get him off me, I didn't want anyone near me, looking at my defiled body.  Then everything went black.

I woke up on the sofa, wrapped in my duvet.  A large cup of tea next to me.  I struggled to try and sit up, but my head hurt and with a little moan I gave up.  Angelo appeared beside me, concern in his eyes.  "I got your message Lily, I came as soon as I could.....what happened?" 

"He said *sob*, I * sob*...."  I couldn't carry on.  Instead I pulled his hand to touch my face, looked him sadly in the eyes then closed them, making myself go over everything that was said and done, showing him what I could bring myself to say.

Angelo buried his face into my neck, cradling me and stoking my hair.  "He is truly evil." he murmured into my skin.  "Let me show you what really happened Lily.  I was with you the whole time.  Do you trust me?"

I turned that concept over in my mind.  Through all the crazy stuff that was going on in my life, the only consistent thing was Angelo.  He always did what he promised.  Trust was what friendship was all about.  I nodded.  His amused smile was back in place, "Sure?  OK, here comes three days of staring at the walls!   Close your eyes." 

It was like having a hangover, when you woke up the next morning and little flashes of memory would come back to you.  Randomly.  Totally ignoring the time-line, leaping out whenever they felt like it until, bam, you suddenly could see the whole thing in front of you.

I sat up.  "The evil son of a ..........I believed him!  He put me through....AAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" 

Angelo was laughing as I vented my anger, until I staggered to my feet, hanging on tight to the duvet and started throwing things, totally frustrated at how I'd let him get to me.  How I'd let him win.  This was his sick revenge, but boy it was game on now. 

If Eric had waited a week he wouldn't be in debt to me, I'd be in debt to him, because right now I'd happily kill him for free.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!  ANGELO HAD SEEN ME NAKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I sunk down on the floor, pulling the cover up tighter round my neck.  Could the day get any worse???!!!!

My whole body was blushing and Angelo was watching from a safe distance, still grinning like a loon.  "Umm, Angelo, thank you....." the words just didn't do any justice to what he'd given back to me.  I know he was the one to take them away, but words just seemed inadequate.

"Not a problem, but please promise me now not to leave a message like that again.  I thought he'd really hurt you and you were dying.  You really scared me."

Sheepishly I grinned, "well to be fair I did think I was going to die!  Didn't stop you from having a good look at me with no clothes on!"

He looked sheepish now, "Well I was just checking for injuries, you know, basic first aid stuff......"

"For that length of time??!!!"

"You turned into a she-devil, I was just trying to stop you from hurting yourself.."  Then he grinned and shrugged.

"Hmmmmmmm.!  Well I'd better put some clothes on so we can plot the perfect death of the evil son of Satan."

Feigning fear at the evil glint in my eye, Angelo said "remind me never to get on the wrong side of you....I'm almost feeling sorry for Jay"
