Tate's POV
Yesterday was rough, my best friend died. Last night me and Jos didn't sleep until very late. We both just sat at a fire. We woke up this morning got ready, sparred a little bit until Ava showed up.
"Reed's still here." She said as she crossed the bridge.
"Ava's it's ok to be in denial, it's healthy." Jos said as she hugged her.
"No he's here! He's right here!" She said as she moved to the side. We could see a figure starting to appear. We couldn't see him fully he was somewhat transparent.
"Is he a ghost?" I asked waving my hand through him.
"Nope." He said as he smacked me.
"What are you then?" Josalyn asked.
"A spirit, he is my spirit!" Ava said.
"What!? Humans can be spirits?" I asked.
"Fight now, talk later!" Josalyn said as she pulled out some vines. I looked up to see my parents with some other people from town, I thought it was just a family business. "There are five of them, Ava you take the blonde on the right, Tate you take your parents and I'll handle the, wait aren't those your friends? Tate!?" Josalyn said. She was right it was Vanna, Emma and Payton. They had this foggy look in their eyes. Bell and Raven showed up behind the others.
"There are too many of them, I don't know how to fight!" Ava yelled.
"It's fine we have our spirits remember we will easily beat the-" I started to say as I got cut off by a fireball flying past me. "They have powers! Ok retreat we need to plan!" We teleported into a bush.
"Ok so Emma has a fire spirit, I think Payton has an air spirit since fog is seeping from his hands. Looks like Bell, Vanna, and Raven are shapeshifters." We watched as Raven turned into a large black bird, Bell into a panther, and Vanna into a large dog.
"Shapeshifters?! I didn't even know that was a possibility." Ava said.
"Ok I have a plan, Ava you and Reed are going fight my parents they don't have weapons so it will be a fist fight. Jos you are going to take out the animals, use the vines to restrain them then come help me with Payton and Emma. Everyone got it?" I asked.
"Let's do this!" Reed said.
"Everyone be careful, and fight hard. Now Let's Go!"
