Bella

Two days.

Two flippin' days since I had that horrid nightmare!

I couldn't bring myself to tell Liam what I had dreamt about, so I did the only thing I could; I lied! I told him I was adjusting to the new environment and that triggered something.

Of course, he didn't believe me with the way my eyes were frantically scanning the room and my panicked state.
But after countless reassuring words and a promise, he finally believed me; or so I thought.

Just thinking about it sent chills up my spine.

The sound of my cellphone ringtone– Believer by Imagine Dragons– pulled me out of my train of thought, I placed it on loudspeaker as Liam was the caller.

"Hey, you. Wassup?"

"Nun much. I just wanted to invite you to my party later on. It's your birthday today, right?"

"Yes, it is. You remembered?"

"Of course I did. So what you say? You coming or—" he said expectingly.

"—I can't make it, it's Dad's week off and he thought it'd be cool to chill together. Lol! Thanks for inviting me though, maybe next time?"

"Cool, cool. No problem, but, if you do change your mind you can hit me up and I'll pick you up. Okay." He reassured.

"Thank you. Pumpkin pie!" I said in a sing-song tone.

"You're not letting it slide are you?"

"Most definitely not! It suits you, besides, it's nearly Halloween and it blends in with the day." I sniggered.

"Whatever B! Happy birthday you big meanie, I hope you have a blast while chilling and hopefully your dad's personality rubs off on 'ya."

"Hahaha! That was soo funny!" I taunted. "Thank you, I'll have a blast. Talk to you later, gotta buy that junk food to get the whole birthday experience."

"Okay, talk later. Don't finish the food."

"Bye Liam!"

I hung up on him before he could make comeback, lord knows Liam lives for comebacks.

Is it just me or it super satisfying to hang up on someone while they try to make a comeback. It feels as though all the power is just handed to you. Or maybe I'm just a little mean.

Making my way downstairs, Dad's ritual birthday cooking was in full swing; I'm talking about pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, toast, mixed berries, and everything else you'd ever want. I still wonder why he didn't go into the cooking business, he'd have killed it.

"Morning cupcake, everything will be set in five minutes. You can grab a drink in the fridge as you wait."

"Morning Dad. It smells divine in here, I'll just wait for the food."

"Okay. So what's the plan today?" He inquired, flipping a golden pancake in the pan.

"Eat your bomb-ass good food, school, probably hang out with Zoe and Liam, then finally Netflix and hang with you."

"Okay. Since you have everything on lockdown then I guess your set," He turned away from the electric stove and dished up for two then said, "breakfast is served madam Moselle."
