I'd been keeping an eye on Bella ever since she started drinking. She didn't look like the type to drink and get wasted but I could tell that something was bothering her.
Fuck!! When did I start caring for her? The only thing she's been able to do is to work up my blood pressure and aggravate me most if not all of the time.
Her attempts at making everything seem as if they're A-okay don't fool me. Her eyes tell a different story from her actions.
Subtly looking at her from my spot on the porch,— didn't want to be seen as a stalker or anything like that— I saw her stumbling out of the kitchen and making her way to God knows where leaving a trail of intoxicated giggles.
"I'll be back man," I informed one of my buddies as I made a beeline for Bella.
A bad feeling settled somewhere between the pit of my stomach, and my chest. The last time I felt that way was when my sorry excuse for a father decided to make my mother his punching bag.
Losing sight of Bella's whereabouts I head to the makeshift dancefloor. Locating who I wanted to talk to, I made hand gestures for the person to follow me. It'd be hard trying to talk to someone when the music is blaring soo loudly.
Liam finally reached my side and I could tell that my summoning was the last thing he needed nor wanted.
"What do you want?" He aggressively quipped.
"Wassup to you too, bro!" I greeted in a non-bothered tone just to get a reaction out of him.
My method always worked, as he was practically fuming. Good times."I'm not up for this, if you want to act like a complete jackass, be my guest. Just don't do shit you'll regret later on." He lectured.
"Listen, I'm not here to cause a fight or anything of sorts. I just wanted to give you a heads up that Bella is super drunk and I don't know where she disappeared to, so since I know that you like and care for her I just thought you should know."
The look of disbelief on his face really cracked me up.
"I'm not a Class A jerk like everybody seems to believe ya'know, I have a heart that beats and I feel all that sentimental bullshit, sometimes. Bella just seems like she's been through a lot and I know how that feels— wanting to just forget everything, even for a second to just breathe and live. Just be there for her man."
"Uhm...yeah sure. I don't think I need your advice on what to do with Bella, but thanks for the heads up. Do you think you know where she might have gone?"
"Not really. One minute I saw her heading your way, the next it's like she just disappeared!" I informed him about the little details I had.
"Aight then. How bout we start upstairs? Maybe she needed to freshen up or something." He suggested— getting frustrated with how things were, he ran his hands rather aggressively through his locks of hair.
