"People aren't always what you want them to be. Sometimes they disappoint you or let you down, but you have to give them a chance first. You can't just meet someone and expect them to be everything you're looking for and then be angry when they're not every hope and aspiration you projected onto them. It's foolish to believe that someone will be what you imagine them to be. And sometimes, when you give them a chance, they turn out to be better than you imagined. Different, but better."

I jilted Kathy, making a clear promise to myself that I'd change my ways and fight for my love for Zoe, but was it enough to win her back? After all— I did fuck up to great lengths, cheating wasn't something someone could easily forgive.
Cutting off all loose ends, I vowed to do whatever it took to get my girl back.
It's true what they say: you never know what you have 'til it's gone. I had the best thing that could ever happen to me and I took it for granted.
Relationships had never been the best part of my life. Growing up in a somewhat okay background and having loving parents only for the axles to be tipped into complete disaster was what I had experienced at a young age.
Seeing your father all love crazy in the morning, then in the evening seeing an alcoholic, an abusive bastard was confusing as a little boy.
Being young, too trusting and naive had been my downfall. Imagine this: Looking up to someone who had protected, loved and provided for his family only for that to change in a blink of an eye when financial frustrations rose.
My stupid young self couldn't do anything when Dad— he did not deserve that title— would hit mother across the face or hit me for being a spoilt brat as he'd call it.
I thought that was him showing his love and affection, little did I know that it was the complete opposite.
