MEA
I arrived outside of Raven's home. She was pissed that I woke her up but she knew I needed her.
"Hey, Best friend" I leaned in for a hug and she squeezed me tight.
"How are you feeling Mea?" She stepped aside so I could walk inside her apartment. I made my way towards the couch and plopped down.
"I feel like my world has been turned upside down." I let out a big sigh. "Then Sandra is on that bullshit. The door was closed in my face and she told me to try again later. I knew I should have came over here first. I don't know what I was thinking." My relationship with my mother Sandra has always been a rocky one.
I practically raised myself and my younger sister Draya. Once my father left Sandra her behavior got worse. She was mean, emotionally abusive and selfish. One day he got tired of her shit and left the relationship and his two daughters behind. I will never be able to forgive my father for leaving us. We went from being daddy's girls to nothing at all to him. My heart still breaks when I think about my father.
My father's absence in our lives caused Sandra to drink more, stay out all night and belittle us even more than before. When she was home she would be locked up in her room with a man. There were so many men coming in and out of our home I stopped counting.
The men she brought in were no damn good. Especially her "favorite" William.
Draya and I were sitting in the living room watching TV when we heard arguing. The arguing was normal to us so we didn't bat an eyelash and continued watching TV. Until we heard "get off me" and a loud slap sound. Draya and I made eye contact and quickly headed towards our mother's bedroom.
"Mama. Mama." Draya yelled.
We opened her bedroom door and found William standing over her. The room was in shambles. The iron was thrown across the room, sheets were on the floor and pillows were everywhere.
"Get your hands off of her." I heard Draya screamed.
"Shut up hoe and mind your business." He yelled at Draya.
My sister and I were trying our hardest to get William off our mother. After a long struggle, we finally separated the two. William pushed us off of him. For a few minutes, the only sound you could hear was the heavy breathing coming from everyone.
After our staring contest with William, I finally said: "Get your punk ass out and don't ever come back here." I pointed towards the door.
"Yeah, don't come here anymore or we will call the police." I heard Draya say.
William chuckled "Oh, I will be back. You know I'm not going anywhere." He winked at me before leaving out of the room. No one moved until we heard the front door closed.
