MEA

6 months later

It's been six long months but despite all of the challenges I've faced I am finally in a good place.

I have found a job working as a biological technician at a local hospital. I do have plans on attending school to receive my Master's in Occupational Therapy next year.

I've moved out of my mother's house and found a luxury one bedroom apartment. With the money I've saved over the years and what I'm earning now I'm able to live a comfortable but luxurious life.

My relationship with my mother has slowly but surely gotten better. I have seen a few improvements since the breakthrough moment. Starting with her kicking William to the curve. Which was one of the biggest obstacles standing between us mending our relationship.

She still curses like a sailor and smokes sometimes but of course, some things take time. I'm just happy that she's trying and that's all we ask of her.

Draya has decided to officially move back home. Her apartment is ten minutes down the road from mine. I'm extremely thankful for my little sister. She is the best gift my mother could have given me.

A small smile came over my face as I pulled the covers back, slid my feet into my slippers and went into the bathroom to prepare for the day.

I am going to visit Raven. It's been weeks since I've been able to take some time out and visit. Now that my body was officially burned out I requested for the week off. Today started my first day off in a while and it's only right that I spend the day with my best friend.

It took me an hour to get dressed and walk outside to my car. I arrived at the graveyard thirty minutes later. Taking a deep breath I grabbed the flowers from the passenger seat and got out walking toward her grave.

"Hey sis!" I placed the flowers on top of her grave.

"Everything has been so quiet and different since you've been gone. Sorry I haven't visited in a while. I've been staying busy to keep my mind off of everything." I wiped the single tear that fell from my eye.

"I've spoken to Prince recently and he's doing good. He's not completely his old self yet but everyday I see a little progress. We all miss you so much!" I placed my hand on her tombstone.

I jumped when I felt a hand touch my shoulder. I quickly turned around and saw Princeton.

"I was getting ready to slap you." I placed my hand against my beating heart. "Don't scare me like that again." I tried to calm down my breathing.

"Hey Mea!" He chuckled and gave me a small smile. "I apologize for scaring you. I didn't expect to see you out here so early in the morning. I usually come out here often to check on her." He looked towards the grave.

We both stood there for what seemed like forever in silence. Remembering all of the great times we shared with Raven.

"Remember that time we all went skating?" I tried to hold in my laughter.

"A memory I want to forget." Princeton rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled.

-Flashback-

I couldn't stop laughing at the boys trying there hardest to stay on their feet. Raven and I were currently on our first double date with Princeton and Dominique. The night was going amazing and the vibes were all positive.

"I thought you were the man Prince. What happened to you being able to do anything?" Raven laughed.

He was trying to pull himself up from off of the floor after falling for the one hundredth time. He gave up and literally crawled over to the wall so he could support himself. We couldn't stop laughing.
