PRINCETON
"Damn girl you looking good." I couldn't help but stare at her.
Even though Raven and I decided to just be friends. She holds a special place in my heart and I still love her.
You ever heard the saying "right person but wrong time." She came into my life when I was all about self. The only thing I cared about was me and my money. I wasn't looking to settle down. I just wanted to have some fun.
Raven was different though. I could tell she loved me for me. Not my status or my money but she was really feeling me as a person.
We dated for a year. I tried to stay faithful but I let my lifestyle get to me. I was young and dumb. Didn't know what I had until I lost it.
Raven text me and said that she wanted to link up at the park. I was sitting outside on the bench for ten minutes when I saw her walking towards me.
"My baby is so beautiful." I looked her over from head to toe. I stood up and gave her a big hug.
"Hey." She placed a piece of hair behind her ear and sat down next to me on the bench.
"Wassup beautiful. Why are we at the park today?" I looked at her. I could sense that something was wrong with her.
"I wanted to speak with you face to face." She played with her fingers.
"Okay baby. Let me know what's on your mind." I touched her chin and lifted her head so she could look into my eyes.
"I don't know if this is working anymore." I saw tears forming in her eyes.
My heart literally dropped. "Why you say that?" I started panicking.
"Look I don't want to drag this out." She let out a big sigh.
I was nervous as hell. My heart was literally breaking into two. She was actually about to leave me. The tears wanted to fall but didn't.
"If I can't be your only one then we can be nothing at all." She stared at me with tears falling from her face. "I deserve better then this. I'm a good woman Princeton."
"Raven listen..." I tried to touch her arm.
"No, Princeton enough is enough. I'm tired. Maybe we should end this." She looked down at the ground. "You're not ready right now. You're deep in the streets. You have plenty of women throwing themselves at you. We're young. I don't think you're ready for this commitment and it's okay. I love you so much and I'm going to make this decision easier for both of us. I'm deciding to walk away on good terms. I don't know what the future may hold for us but right now we both have some growing up to do. I love you Princeton and that will never change." I could literally see the hurt on her face.
She hugged me, kissed me on my lips and walked away. I stood up with tears falling down my face watching a piece of my heart walk away from me.
I knew she deserved better so I let her go. I wasn't ready. I was young 21 years old and top dog in the streets. I didn't have time for anything serious. So I had no choice but to let her go. We stayed closed friends through out the years but I still regret that decision to this day.
I should have hold on tighter. I wish she wouldn't hold that over my head. I'm a changed man now. I've matured and grown into a grown ass man. I know what I want now and it's her!
"Hey, Prince and thank you for the compliment you're not looking bad either." I hugged her. When she tried to pull away I pulled her right back to me.
Her beautiful brown eyes were staring into mine and I was getting hypnotized. I could only shake my head because I was stupid to let a woman like this go. She was the calm to my fire. The good girl that I needed in my life but at the time I couldn't see it.
Now I have to deal with her big head stubborn ass acting like she doesn't want me back. But every time I see her the look in her eyes tells me something different.
While she was still in my arms I started rubbing her back.
"Come here beautiful." I licked my lips and moved my head forward to give her a kiss. Our lips were about to touch but I felt her push out of my arm.
"Princeton what are you doing?" She stared at me with her hands on her hips.
I smiled at her. "I'm not doing anything that you didn't want to happen." I winked at her and got into the car. "Come on lil baby." I reached over and opened the passenger door.
She stood in front of the car until she rolled her eyes and finally got in. I pulled out of her driveway and headed to our destination.
"Everybody and they mama are in here today." Raven wanted to go shopping. Since Mea was still dealing with the loss of her child she couldn't go.
My plans today were to chill at home and play the game after a busy week. But, since it was Raven, of course, I told her I would come. Who wouldn't want to spend the day with her fine ass.
We spent three hours in the mall. I was ready to go after thirty minutes but I was trying not to kill the mood.
"Let's go to the food court, Rae. You had me in this mall all day and I'm starving." She smiled at me, grabbed her bags and we headed to the food court.
Every time Raven and I got together it was a good vibe. It just felt so right.
"Why are you staring at me like that Prince?" She took a sip of her drink.
We were in the food court finishing up our food from Chinatown. She ordered the sesame chicken, pork fried rice and lo mein. I ordered three egg rolls, Chinese donuts, lo mein, pork fried rice with orange chicken. If you couldn't tell I love food!
"Dang. I can't look at you?" I smiled at her.
She quickly responded. "No." Rolling her eyes in a playful manner.
"Who's going to stop me?" I raised an eyebrow with a smirk on my face. "I can't help but to stare at my future wife." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Future wife? Prince please." She laughed.
"You always try to act so hard Raven but I know you want me." I rubbed my hand on her thigh.
She tried to hide the smile that was forming on her face but I caught it.
"Whatever!" She flipped her hair, moved my hand and finished her food.
"She's worried about Dom but in here with another nigga." I wiped my mouth with the napkin.
Raven turned around and almost choked on her drink. "You straight?"
She nodded her head yes. "That guy she's with was just on a date with Mea. He ghosted my best friend and now we have problems."
She quickly got up and went over to them. I followed behind her even though I wasn't with the drama.
I was hoping nothing would pop off because our day was going so well. But knowing Dom's baby mama she lives for the drama and Raven doesn't back down.
I sighed and followed behind Raven enjoying the view of her from behind.
