*Chapter dedicated to Erin for blowing up my phone to make sure that I stay focused on completing these chapters. Lol <3*MEA
After picking up Junior we headed to Princeton's apartment. Twenty minutes later we pulled up in front of the building.
"I'll be right back." Princeton reached his arm out of the window with his house keys in his hands. I looked at him in confusion and grabbed them out of his hands. I stood in place until he drove out of the parking lot.
"Please be safe brother," I mumbled to myself and let out a sigh.
I turned toward Dominique who had Junior laying against his chest. No words were exchanged as we walked towards the apartment door. I opened the door and turned on the living room lights. Locking the door I kicked my shoes off and instantly went to plop down on the couch.
"Let me take him into the room and I'll be right back. Do you need anything?" Dom asked.
"I'm fine." I opened my eyes and gave him a small smile.
He nodded his head and walked up the stairs with Junior.
I dropped my head into my lap. Wishing that the words "I'm fine" were actually true. Some days I feel like I'm having an out of body experience and I don't know if I'm coming or going. I put on a front like everything is fine but even the strongest person breaks.
I'm truly exhausted and my heart is suffering the most pain.
I heard footsteps so I slowly lifted my head and saw Dom walking down the stairs with a look of concern on his face.
"You good Meme?" Dom stood in front of me.
I dropped my head and started playing with my fingers. Debating on if I should be truthful or keep my feelings to myself.
After a few moments of silence I watched him walk into the kitchen and bring out two water bottles. He took off his jacket and laid back on the couch and turned his attention towards me.
"When you're ready to talk I'm listening." He drunk some of his water and laid his head back on the couch closing his eyes.
I examined the man that was sitting next to me. Looking him over from head to toe.
How could he be so strong after everything that has occurred?
I let out a frustrated sigh and took a sip of my water.
"Honestly Dominique...No, I'm not okay. I'm far from okay. So much has happened since I moved out of the apartment. Since you know that night..." I shook my head.
I thought about everything that has happened. Finding out that my fiance cheated and was keeping a 2-year old from me. Having to go back to my mother's home which has caused me to face situations, people and feelings that I've tried so hard to bury. Meeting Jarod and finding out the hard way that he was a wolf in sheep clothing. That he and Dom's baby mama was plotting against us this entire time which caused me to lose my baby and best friend because of jealousy and greed.
"How much can one person take Dom?" I wiped the tears with my shirt. He grabbed me into a hug and held me. It actually felt good being able to let it all out. He held me until he noticed that I calmed down and my tears were now sniffles.
"I know everything has been spiraling downhill for the past few months. Yesterday was definitely a lot to handle. Losing Rae, Junior now having to grow up without his mother...." He shook his head and ran his hand down his face.
