03 | my friends are backstabbing me?

I think my friends are backstabbing me. Every time I'm around, they're suddenly quiet. When I initiate conversation, they aren't as enthusiastic as before. I've heard from my fellow classmate that they ARE saying nasty things behind my back, but my friends deny it when I confront them. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong to them, but I'm not so sure now. Help please?

I think what you should know is that friends can grow apart or develop gaps. It always happens.

However, if they are being fake or un-friendly, then you aren't really friends. Fake friends will not always admit to being fake, so take your time to make some new friends and find something better to do.

Friends like this come and go just like real friends but if they are your real friends, they'll tell you to your face.

Or maybe they need space because they feel like you're on different pages.

But if the rumours are true, then you do need to make new friends. Confrontation is not always the best way to end a friendship. However, if your friends want to rekindle the friendship (given that you leave it), they will make the effort.
But it is also important to note that making new friends can be difficult.

With all that being said, you should definitely find things to keep you distracted. Taking up new hobbies, as cliché as this sounds, can be immensely helpful in keeping the mind away from thinking too much. Like trying to learn a new language, learning how to sketch or paint.
Having dealt with this before, I would like to tell you that some friendships aren't meant to be and maybe this is one of them.

But to conclude, try to talk to them. If this problem persists, maybe it's time to move on and accept this friendship wasn't meant to be.
