Chapter 5. Let Me Down Slowly

This was the third month that he hasn't known a thing of Destiny. He simply sighed knowing that around 2 months ago she came and left without digging in first of Fate's assurance. Karma just wanted to feel loved, he has done everything! His attempts, his gifts, even those shows of affection to Destiny proved how much he cared for her. But Destiny's responses weren't as he expected.

He suddenly began to sing.

"This night is cold in the kingdom
I can feel you fade away
From the kitchen to the bathroom sink and
Your steps keep me awake".

Karma woke up that time to see Destiny feeding Error in the middle of the night. His heart felt warm as he smiled at the scene. As Error finishes his bottle he noticed Karmas presence and begins to fall asleep. Destiny felt Karma's presence, she turned her heat and gave a deadly glare at him. Just to make Karma get surprised and go back to sleep.

"Don't cut me down, throw me out, leave me here to waste
I once was a man with dignity and grace
Now I'm slipping through the cracks of your cold embrace
So please, please"

"I'm home!". Karma's cheerful voice comes out as Destiny just gave an approval sign. Karma walked to her as showed her the bouquet of flowers he brought for her. She sighed as she saw Karma with an annoyed face. "I told you about it! No gifts!". She shouts leaving as Karma dropped the bouquet fighting off the tears that were willing to fall.

Karma woke up scared hugging himself, to realize he was in the sofa of the living room sleeping. It's been a while since he has ever slept next to Destiny. He hasn't gotten that much acceptance from her. Did he do something wrong?

"Cold skin, drag my feet on the tile
As I'm walking down the corridor
And I know we haven't talked in a while
So I'm looking for an open door"

His heart began to break as he felt a lack of magic from himself. He remembers the past, when he was a child. His attempts on casting spells and magic never worked, leaving his parents conclude that he isn't  magic compatible. Or just like any simple mortal, he could have been dead. But the words of someone let them believe that Karma still had the chance to succeed in magic. If they only knew how powerful he was.

Again as before, Karma hugged Destiny from the back to show some affection. "Let me go". Destiny said quietly as Karma ignored that. Destiny growled as she pushed him again. To do the sudden action.

*SLAP!*

"Don't do that EVER again!!!". She shouted as she left to do the most obvious. Karma just touched the cheek as he asked himself a question. 'Do you need to hit others to show their love?'.

Karma saw the emptiness of his mind, he saw a wholesome bunch of SOULS being hung and began to hear the whispers of the past people HE has murdered. He can't anymore with the guilt it's too much for him. Now with Destiny's rejections he's breaking down.

Karma finished singing letting the tears fall down. He felt relieved after singing that, he simply smiled at a memory of him and Error. He remembers well how Error squeals every time he's alone with him. He feels happy that someone wants him to be their father, he feels so loved by him. But inside he known that he'll never gain a relationship in couples as they have told him for so long. He looked at the half a heart crystal necklace he has and smiles at the time he got that.

Fate heard everything throughout the door. She sighed leaving the zone going to the living room. She looked at her half a heart crystal necklace and smiled as well. She also blushed knowing what that meant for her.

Sometimes friendship may end up with something else. Will this one end up in one?
