Karmic Destiny [Current Hiatus/Rewriting]

Chapter 18. Investigation

"Hey Cross". Killer whispers catching the other ones attention. "What is it?". He whispers as they were alone in the living room. Why? Because of them insisting if Destiny passes by, that's what they believed. "I've been thinking, do you think Destiny is hiding something?". Killer thinks while Cross gave a slight flinch. "How come you think of that?!". He asks while the other one frowns. "Think of this, Karma was absent around a month when Destiny gave us the news. Why didn't she seemed urgent the first week?". Killer gave certain questions while Cross looks dumbfounded. "Why a week?". Cross replied asking while Killer slaps himself. "Destiny and Karma explained to us that the longest to fulfill their job was a week, did you even paid attention when we were at their house after the incident?!". The skeleton with dark tear marks asks while the one with the scar shakes his skull. "Well that explains a lot". Killer huffs while he stands up and began to search the place.

He definitely suspected of the place, there were no such details that could prove that the relationship was stable. Only Error's emotions. "Do you think something happened and that caused him to run away?". Cross asks while Killer nods. This is definitely something that was on Killer's mind for a while, but never spoke out since they would probably treat him like trash. "I guess you have some point on it". Cross agrees while Killer looks at the room where Destiny sleeps. "Hey! Now that you're thinking of it maybe we could just-". "Look!". Killer said finding a journal at the box that was under the bed. "I believe this belongs to Karma". Killer easily assumes while he opened it. His sockets widened causing Cross to get close and realize what the writing said:

"Dear Journal :

It's been weird to write lately but, is it a really bad sign when you're fiancé doesn't want you to give them love? I'm worried that if I assumed it, she could cancel everything.

I'm asking this because I tried to hug her and I was holding to tight on her. She immediately slapped me and shouted me to never do it again.

I wonder if I'm the bad one ever since we got our child back. I guess it's for the best to have our distance. I'm scared to end up being hated. I know she would never leave me, she loves me but... If distance she wants she'll have it."

"Now you believe me? If Karma wrote this then something must've happened!". Killer said while Cross frowns. "I think this is fake, how come Destiny-". "The page seems to somehow get wet, and I don't believe it was water". Killer simply shows while Cross sighs. "How come you just assume that Destiny is the bad one?! Look! She even care for us and-". "I believe she was tricking us". Killer said determined and serious. "Think of it, Destiny is someone that "cares", but according to the journal, she slapped Karma by hugging her". Killer begins while Cross raises an eye brow?". "Well maybe she didn't wanted a hug". "Cross for my existence! The journal said that she told him to NEVER do it again! She's definitely controlling and using him!". He screams worried as Cross simply looks with no care. "Karma is a wimpy kid, he's definitely not mature enough. I can see why-". "Do you think he was abused in the past?". Killer interrogated in a creepy tone. "Remember Error being mistreated and we forced him to speak up?". He asks as Cross looks down.

"Look, I guess we can avoid him for now". Killer said in a nostalgic tone while they looked around the place a bit more. "What?". Cross saw the trash and saw something really nice made in it. "These are dumped gifts". Killer says surprised. "Who would reject them?". Cross asks while Killer glares inland X who was there not talking face palmed themselves. Killer suddenly noticed something from the gift. "Look!". Killer shouts as Cross' mouth opens. "Oh no....". "He...." "Ran away". X finished the sentence while they glared at Cross. "Now you believe him?". X asks sarcastically while Cross blushes from the embarrassment. "I have the welling that's not the only thing that's been thrown away". Killer mumbles searching on other places. He spots something, but his eye sockets widened in disbelief. "A ring!". X says catching Cross' attention. "This isn't any ring". Killer says still looking at the ring in disbelief.

"It's an engagement ring".

"This can't be true! Is this some sort of nightmare?!". Cross asks but X gets close to see the ring's color. Grey. "The gem is grey, is it supposedly be that color?". X asks while Cross shrugs worried. "Hey Killer, is the gem supposed to be that color?". Cross asks while Killer began to think. "I don't think so". He simply answered that while silence invaded the room.

"Karma! You shouldn't be forcing yourself into something that harsh!". Fate pulled and placed Karma on the couch. "You're not a servant! Why are you doing this?". Fate looks at Karma while this one doesn't answer. Fate notices a faint glow of red coming from the ring Karma was still wearing. Fate ignored it since she's been having a headache on making Karma to relax and not be working all day with daily chores a normal mortal could do. 'I can't blame him, he's good at doing them. They really taught him well'. Fate thinks just as she looked at Karma's annoyed yet cute face. Fate only giggled as the other deity pouts with annoyance. "Hey, I was thinking of this, you can go outside. But only with our close ones when no one else is watching. It's for your own safety". Fate suggest while Karma looks at her. "I trust you, so I'll listen and do it". Karma smiled as the other one blushed. "I care for you, that's my only and most important reason". Fate said leaving the living room as Karma suddenly felt heat from his cheeks. 'Huh? W-Why do I feel out of the sudden?!' He thinks to realize there's one option, but he can't rely on it since he loves Destiny. 'Maybe it's just friendship warmth'. He thinks shrugging it off and looks at the new midnight sky. Yet he never noticed that the gem of his ring began to turn faintly glow and for sure to turn gray in the future.

Some fill in since I've been busy, I really needed to put this. It's so worth it! Now I guess the Q & A will not be made. No questions at all, this book has been dead and now I'm thinking no one will appreciate the outcome. Either way, as long as I'm satisfied and someone appreciates it, I'm fine. Not a really popular one but, one that can give others a good feeling.
