Chapter 16. The Teenage Success (History Special Part 1/2)

A tentacle hit the beast that was about to kill the teenager. The teenager saw another figure with tentacles coming out from its back and saw one of them coming back towards where it came from. He saw the figure kneel down, he immediately recognized who it was. "Come with us! It isn't safe here!". He said as the teenager felt that someone picked him up. "Hey! I can walk!". He complained while the other teenager shook his head. "She would definitely get mad at me if you tripped or something". The teenager that hosted the tentacles began to run seeing other silhouettes from animals and human figures running. "Where all they all going?". He teen saw the other one as he sighed. "The Refuge, There's an attack and many old deities were victims and now helpers of Corruption". He explained while he took a different direction. "Hope, wasn't Corruption good or something?". He asks seeing how Hope gave a blush and a sad look. Not everything is nice in this world, and things like these could happen. "Things aren't like someone expects, she told me you were not having the best of times and relationships with your parents". Hope  self explains seeing how the other's look saddened, but Hope suddenly realized something not normal. The teen's weight. "Karma... since when was the last time you actually ate something?". Hope asks still tying to find the place due to the fog that covered the place they were. "Around last two weeks, why do you ask?". Karma looks at Hope while the other tried not to completely go on a rampage. Seriously, who would ever be so insane to torture, pressure or anything to him?!

"Oh, I noticed your weight". He said flustered answering back to Karma. Noticed of beasts were heard. Suddenly a bunch of cyan arrows hit the beasts as light emitted from them. "Hope! Over here!". He recognized the voice. It was Wish. "He ran seeing the light beam she made, as came to a special refuge all teenagers made. "You made it!". Wish says hugging seeing how the green barrier cover the Teenagers' Refuge. "May be placed down now?". Karma asks feeling slightly embarrassed of being in Hope's embrace. Fate came out seeing the commotion, and saw Karma. "Is he alright?". Fate asks while Hope nods placing Karma down. "He needs to eat something, he's WAY too light for his size. He told me he hasn't eaten, besides, he needs to gain at least some magic even if he... you know". Hope whispered while Fate took Karma inside the place. He saw Luck was making sure of the barrier with Memory and Mind's help. "Hey, where's Tune and Beat?". Karma asked worried seeing Memory get closer. "They're helping others, we decided to do something". Memory simply states going back to help.

"He's worthless! I believe it's the best to give him in for a simple job as a servant or give up his immortality". Power says seeing the pale faces of Providence and Nemesis, they couldn't believe what they were hearing! Give up their son?! Who in the world would do that?! Of course, as a sacrifice for others, but not to because he wasn't powerful! They saw how Kismet agreed. "He's right, we need a descendant that has our strength". Kismet agrees while Providence wanted to slap some sense into them. "Halo wasn't that powerful but his parents still-". "DO NOT BRING THEM INTO THIS! THIS IS OUR CHOICE! NOT YOURS!". Power cuts off Nemesis, he was angry since they always compared his father. His father's strength wasn't that long living, which meant that he faded away. "We decided it's the best for him and the Deities future". Kismet adds while Providence wanted to cry. The boy was a very polite and mannered being. Why? Shouldn't they love their children the way they are? Those questions were in Providence's mentality while Nemesis scoffed at their decision. They were about to leave when they suddenly got an idea. "Fine, until when will you keep him?". Providence asks while they saw the opposite couple look at each other. "Well, until he's a teen. He must learn what any normal human does, before we can take away his right as a Deity". Kismet adds while Nemesis frowns, but saw how Power sighs. "We'll keep trying to see if he's worth of something, but like my wife said, he'll end up in a mortal foster family if he's not worthy". Power details while Nemesis sighs. "Well then, we'll be having Karma have some sleepovers with Fate at our place. That way you two can search for the home your "Child's" needs". Providence gave that suggestion while the parents of Karma agreed with those terms.
